It’s still crazy to think about Danville not having a win on their season so far. I know things have become more challenging over the past few years, but I didn’t realize things changed this much. What’s going on, are students not coming out to play like before? Are several just going to Boyle County? I was just curious to more of what’s happened.

Obviously lots of internal issues over the last few years with the football program.  The Ads did have a talent exodus to Boyle when Clevenger wasn't chosen as head coach after Peach.  They still have some players but depth/experience is an issue, especially on the lines.

I believe out of respect for the seniors at Danville which he coached, I don’t think he will let it get too far out of hand.  Running clock?  Yes, but not much beyond that.

It will always be considered Title town! 22 Championships between both schools. Stop the nonsense.

  • If Clevenger is rehired when Peach resigned I don't think any of the former Danville players are at Boyle except for Sage Dawson.

Are we sure this is the case? All the boys who actually transferred were rumored to transfer prior to any coaching decision being made. I don't think Clevenger getting the job changes their decisions.

I say this respectfully of course. But, eventually Danville has to move on from Clevenger. Their program being in the shape it is has a lot of factors, but they need to begin to look deeper into those issues. Hope the Ads play well tonight!

I think the wounds are still too fresh for some.  I also think everything is in a holding pattern until Danville selects its next superintendent, which is a process that's about to kick into high gear.  I hope that person is someone who comes from a small school background and also recognizes the importance of the football program for the reputation of the school and how it complements academic achievement.  That person needs to make sure that they re-engage the community, put effort into getting back boosters, re-establish a sense of a tradition of excellence, and provide the coach with whatever they need to get back to a competitive level.

Somerset takes it to the house on its first drive in less than 3 minutes on the ground.  Two point conversion fails after a penalty moves the Briar Jumpers closer on the extra point.  Somerset leads 6-0.

Baughman picks up a kickoff after it goes through his legs and runs it to the house about 85 or so yards and scores a TD.  Ads kick the extra point and quickly end up back in front 7-6.

Not sure how they marked him short, he was on top of the Ad laying across the goal line.

Agreed.  That was a bad call from what the video footage was showing!

Hughes just running all over the Ads on these drives.

Somerset may not pass, if this doesn't change.

This has been the Ads weakness all year.  They just can't get much of a defensive push and teams are just piling up 10+ gains regularly.
