Something seems off in general in Buffalo. Bad energy through the offseason.

I think losing Brian Daboll a couple of years ago had a bigger effect than many anticipated.

No doubt.

And Diggs appears to be the most miserable person on the planet.

LOL.  They trading him to Miami and then Buffalo, because both of those teams are better than the Pats.  Not even sure Belicheck is that good.

I was wondering how much truth there was to it.

If this is true it is hard to believe we are talking about Professional Football here.

Doesn't that just mean he's basically the 3rd string QB at this point?

I suppose.  When I read it I assumed number two but you are probably right.  But, looking at their depth chart on their official site all they have listed is Rodgers P1 and Wilson P2 so maybe he is the backup.

I would imagine they kept one on the practice squad or picked up someone this week.  I feel like rules, regarding continuity of the game, require teams to have at least 2 QB's heading into a game and it can't be an emergency QB, I could be wrong.

After some creative googling here it is and you are right:

Saleh is committed to Zach Wilson as the Jets starting quarterback and the team elevated Tim Boyle from the practice squad to serve as his backup. The coach emphasized protecting the culture that the team has built, which was documented in the "Hard Knocks" series this offseason.

From Wikipedia:

Timothy Kevin Boyle is an American football quarterback for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He played college football at Connecticut and Eastern Kentucky where he went undrafted in the 2018 draft. He played for the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, and the Chicago Bears.

Good deal.  Glad I was right, Cobb as the backup would've been "entertaining" for a few minutes but not realistic.
