Well... BCHS has the best coach they are ever going to get now or anytime in the next 25 years.  No one cares more about the school, those kids and the history of BCHS football more than Bryson Warner.  If he can't win there, then turn out the lights because no one will.

I was thinking the same thing.  As bad as things are at Boone they have an excellent coach giving it his all.  Once he leaves look out, Boone will be so bad at that point it will be hard to fathom.

So this is what I don’t understand. The last couple of years, rebel youth 7th and 8th grade teams have had a number of good players who now play for Cooper. If boone had districting, would they be at BCHS?

Doubtful, not many parents with any kind of resources or smarts at all are going to send a good football player to Boone.  

I also think the original downfall of Boone County Football was a principal that was anti-sports.

The same coach that wrote a letter trying to back out of district play because even he felt they couldn’t compete? Towel has already been thrown in.

A book could literally be written about this.  So, really the only youth league now (besides Ft. Thomas) is the NKYFL.  This is where the idea of feeders and districts tied to certain high schools come in.  However, many of us remember the old BCPWFL.  It is still around and fields teams for Boone County (the Little Rebels) and Cooper (the little Jags).  Cooper was trying to get out of that arrangement from what I heard but I am out of the loop.  BCPWFL holds one major asset from its glory days... the BCPWFL field off Hopeful Church.  When your son/daughter plays/practices there the rental fee goes to BCPWFL.  Its possible that a kid who came up through the Little Rebels program actually lives on a street that is districted to Cooper and vice-versa.  Add in the exceptions (like a parent who works in the district and can go anywhere) or moves from a rental house on a BCHS districted street to one on Cooper districted street or purchases a house in a Cooper districted street and therein lies part of the mess.  Boone County Public Schools have districting... but like anything there are a lot of gray areas with that. 

I see a lot of people saying this isn’t sustainable for Boone, not fair for Boone, can’t win with another coach if Warner left, etc? How is their situation any different than others in NKY that have dealt with similar issues for years. Why all this concern for Boone, and talking about how to fix Boone? But yeah rarely ever talked about this for these other schools? Yes, their demographics have changed through the years, but what is so different about them than say Holmes, Newport, Lloyd, the small river schools, or any other school that has a lot of low income families? Why all the concern for Boone, but rarely ever is that mentioned on here through the years for the other schools I mentioned with similar populations.

Those schools have all had similar type of issues to deal with through the years and have had down years, and also good years. So hard for me to understand why all the concern now for Boone, when they simply are just now in the same boat as a few of the other schools we have in NKY.

Yes, this is a Boone County Schools specific thread. However, it is now something that has been brought up a few different times on here in different threads in regards to Boone High School. If this was the first time I probably wouldn’t have replied. However, it’s been a topic on here a few times now this year in multiple threads. Which is why I ask why all the worry about Boone, and almost acting like they are the only school that has had to deal with this. 
 

It definitely can present different challenges than some other schools have to deal with. I have coached and taught in schools with similar populations and even more low income families than them. So I know I definitely understand the challenges that come with it. However, some seem to act like they are the only ones that have had to deal with such issues based of some of the comments over the last year in various threads by people on here and elsewhere.
