Big first district game for both of these teams this week and both teams also enter 3-0. Franklin Simpson is coming in after a 31-21 win at Allen County-Scottsville last week while Adair County won at Larue County 13-0. Franklin Simpson is averaging 38 ppg while allowing 20 ppg. Adair County so far is averaging 34 ppg while only allowing 7 ppg. QB Lane Grant is who stirs the drink for Adair he is averaging 133 pass yards to go along with 149 rush yards in 3 games. Franklin Simpson is a run heavy attack led by Gavin Dickersons 98 ypg, and Blake Mcpherson's 50 ypg. Franklin Simpson averages 62 ypg threw the air and 272 on the ground while Adair is 133 ypg threw the air and 233 ypg on the ground. This will no doubt be Adair's toughest game so far in Coach Stonebrakers first season and will determine if they are a real contender in the district or not.

FS and Adair County have played 8 times as far as I can tell. They were in the same district from 1995-1998 and 2003-2006. FS won 7 of the 8 games with Adair winning in 2003 on the way to a second place finish in the district behind Bowling Green. Most of the games were big wins for the Wildcats. I do not foresee a big margin of victory for either team this week. Adair County’s 28 point win over Bethlehem should not be overlooked. Bethlehem’s other 2 games were huge blowouts over Marshall County and Carroll County and Bethlehem has been a consistently good team in 1A the last few years. Adair County has a fairly balanced offense and seems like they are somewhat similar to Allen County, who always gives FS fits. I will pick FS to win 34-21. I would be disappointed but not shocked if Adair County won though.

I think for Adair to compete their line play will have to be on its game. Larue hit them in the mouth a little last week so hopefully it has Adair ready, but Franklin seems to have the best line both ways they have played. 

FS is a good team. Adair is coming into a good team. If Adair shows up to play they win this game. 21 to 14 Adair

I'm conflicted on this game. I think the result and stats will be very telling of both teams, as of right now I'm not sure where either of them stand against the rest of 3A or within District 2. I am thinking FS takes this one by 7. 

This is a sneaky good game right here!  Two very solid programs that do things the right way IMO.

I just off the cuff felt Franklin would win the game.  But I looked this one up in CalPreps and it had the game

Adair County 27 - Franklin Simpson 24.  I know CalPreps isn't perfect, but it is a gauge.  So, I think I'll go with Franklin 24 Adair 21.  But I'm impressed with both these teams thus far this season.  Good luck to both teams!

I haven’t seen a game program this season which would have the sizes listed for FS, but I don’t think they are that big across the board. They are playing a lot of young linemen this season too. They do have pretty good team speed on defense and I think they have been smaller than all the other teams they have played. 

I know FS has a smaller sized DL which will definitely work in Harts favor as they have only attempted 17 passes this year

Size doesn’t always matter I’ve seen some 200 pounders that were excellent linemen and some 300 pounders that couldn’t block a toddler shooting a free throw. Usually speed and athleticism win football games and I feel like FS has more of that than AC does.
