Beechwood 49 Dixie 48 (OT)

I know “stepping over a player” is technically an unsportsmanlike penalty, but if venture to say he brought the language.

Dixie is definitely much improved. They have some excellent players. Rice is a stud. Only weakness in his game is someone needs to teach him how to shake hands.  QB Gregg is an excellent run

On another topic, from the game thread. Can we please put the term flat in the trash and throw it out once and for all? It is almost never an accurate description of what is happening in a game.

Beechwood hit for big plays late in game. If you went to the game you might have noticed they came after a stoppage.

Dixie plays a sell out defense. A lot of zero coverage. If the other team has better playmakers and you don't get to the QB, you get burned.

You have to exploit the LBs in coverage.

Beechwood's QB Clay Hayden after 3 games:

63/87 72.4%

1,028 yards, 342.7 yards per game

13 TD's, 2 INT's

As impressive as the numbers are, it is more impressive seeing the throws he makes, the velocity, the accuracy, the way he reads a defense.

He should be a D1 QB somewhere.

1. Nothing on that video shows Gregg reached the goal line with the ball. In the freeze frame with him stretching the ball out, we cannot tell from the angle if the ball is over the goal line. Based on where Gregg landed at the end of the play with the nose of the ball just over the goal line, I think the official looking right down the line got it right. He did not make it in.

2. Add me to the list. I did not see the facemask. I was watching the ball, the knee, the goal line, etc. When the facemask was mentioned I watched the video again and yes, there was definitely a facemask on the tackle. We all missed it till we watched the video multiple times so hard to blame officials for not seeing it in the middle of that pack of players.

1. This may give a little clarity as to whether Gregg scored on the 2 pt conversion or not.

Looks like a No but I still maintain if there was no facemask he would have scored.
