Pikevilles to lose and is there anyone else in 1A?

I agree with Cheese.  Pikeville looks far too strong for anyone in 1A to challenge them this year.

I would say its Pikeville by at least 2-4 touchdowns over everyone else. It would take a mighty amount of things to go right for anyone to beat them at this point.

I think the class is much stronger this year than it has been in several years. I also think Pikeville is still head and shoulders above everyone in the class.

If Pikeville loses to LCA do they drop out of the 1?

I wouldn’t think so, especially since they play Raceland next week. If anything changes ranking wise it wouldn’t be until then.

That makes a lot of sense.

I think these three teams will tell us a lot of what we need to know about Class 1A - Pikeville, Raceland and LCA.  Raceland and Pikeville plays each other on the regular season and they both play LCA.  
 

Of course, Pikeville plays LCA early and Raceland plays them late and score comparisons can be deceiving. But I think we find some things out.  Pikeville and Raceland have seen 50 point swings against each other in the same season. 

Could we see a team challenge Pikeville the way Russellville challenged them a few years ago in the state title game? Or is this Pikeville team better than the '21 team while none of the other 1A contenders are as good as that Russellville team was?
