I've noticed nearly every game on Friday night has pushed the start time back an hour or so because of the heat. With weather expected to be a little cooler this weekend, have any games been moved to Saturday?

I don’t think there’s any reason to just move the early games back a little give them plenty of breaks and water.

Agreed. I had seen a post from Jason Frakes at the Courier-Journal about some Louisville games maybe being moved to Saturday (he implied more because of officials than weather), but I never heard of any games actually moving.

Moving games upsets a lot of schedules and like was already mentioned, error on the side of caution and play ball.

I'll add, this question was strictly selfish on my part. I would like to go to a game at a stadium I've never been to on Saturday but I've been to every one that's currently showing on the schedule! ?

Pick a good one then!

I think most/all of the Saturday games are moved because of lack of officials.   My understanding is that there is up to 1,000 fewer football officials in the KHSAA this season.....if that is correct....wow.

Does anyone have any knowledge about the difference in officials year over year?

I don’t know where all you have been and where you’re willing to go but Barren moved their game with Trigg to Saturday but that’s because it was a double header bowl game and they moved the first back an hour and a half and didn’t want to start their game after 10pm.

Haven’t heard of any games being switched to Saturday. I know several are playing at 8:00 or later in the evening.

WAVE channel 3 in Louisville reported the other night that there are about 4,000 officials this year, as compared to over 5,000 last year....

Oldham County vs. Shelby County (in Buckner) has not been moved to Saturday, but has been backed up, time-wise, twice.   It will now kickoff at 8:30 pm ET tomorrow.

Plenty of activity before that, though, as Oldham dedicates the new artificial turf field, renames the stadium, and celebrates 70 years.    6 pm tailgating, 6:30 "Colonelwalk", 7 pm Allen Lane Band, 8 pm field dedication and flyover, 8:30 kickoff, and about 9:30, halftime fireworks.
