Max Preps Preseason Top 25 Extended to Top 100

MaxPreps yesterday released their preseason top 25 and went on to extend it to their preseason top 100. Frederick Douglass was the only team from Kentucky to be ranked coming in at #81. I’m not sure if this years Douglass team at this time is the best in the state at this time. I’m sure there are several teams that could made their case. It is good for Kentucky football that someone is represented and I hope more is ranked throughout the season.

I think this year's Douglass team will be a slight step down from Last year's team who actually finished #48 on MaxPreps football rankings.

Rankings are so hard and national rankings are impossible.  With that said, I think calpreps is great.

Current preseason Calpreps.com rankings of top teams. Top 4 are 6A teams. These won't be finalized until August 10th. Some coaches fill out team info form and others don't which impacts accuracy of these. Recruiting rankings of returning players also has impact.

USA Today has St. X top team in Kentucky.
