This is perfectly said. The students need the sidelines like at Duke but it will never happen :thumb:

 

For the 2783 millionth time.. Duke students don't get both sidelines.. They get ONE, not both. If students got any sideline seating at UK, they certainly wouldnt' get all of it.

Lets see during the christmas break, UK usually plays teams that no one has ever heard of. I guarntee you that if there was a game that was of interest during break the students definitely would come and fill up their seats even if they were on break...

 

In another thread weren't you criticizing the fans for not being 'rowdy' for the entire game, unless a top team comes in. You were arguing that the students needed the blue hairs seats so the games would always stay rowdy?

 

But you defend the students for not showing up against inferior teams? I don't understand your logic behind that. If they currently won't even fill their allotment of tickets for said games, what makes you think they're going to be 'rowdy' for an entire game against inferior teams? You can't have it both ways.

Either move up, or dont come...The basketball team exists because it is a college for students. Students should get the right to sit closer to the floor to watch the school they go to play. Especially when it also would help out the team more...

Not saying this year, just throw it in next year for a game or two and see what happens. That's more than enough time for the "people paying thousands" to find out they will not have their seats. Just a trial baises, not anything to get fired up about.

The people who can afford the seats, sit on the sidelines and don't cheer. When their children are grown, they are sent to UK and stand quietly in the E-Rupption zone because of their upbringing.

What about the kids in the erruption zone who's parent's don't sit in the lower level? Erruption zone members aren't hand picked, everyone who is a student has a chance at those seats, if you wanna call them that.

Lets see its during christmas break, so most of the students at the university go home for break, and alot of us dont actually live in lexington when we are not in college. But you know what for the most part the students still pretty much fill out all their seats during christmas break because even the games during break are usually around 23000 people there. But the reason for maybe one or two open seats in the student section would be because of christmas break...Also if the students had more seats in the lower arena it wouldnt' be any different than the people who sit in the lower arena now during christmas break. Because I know during break I still do go to games, and well during break alot there are alot of open seats that the older people usually sit in, so I move down from the upper arean and are usually sitting right by the court...So the people who do pay all this money for season tickets in the lower areana usually dont even go to their seats down the games during christmas break. So if students had those seats, it wouldn't be any different than it is now with open seats during break. Except that it still would be louder with the students in the lower section than the people who are not students...

Your missing my point. It's not about giving them enough time to realize that their seats are being taken away. It's about where do you find the cash that the school will lose by giving those seats away.

You need to check UK's winning percentage in Rupp...students getting better tickets will not improve that...anyway, it won't happen...if anything the students will move up from the eRupption zone, because it isn't very good...

Lets see so I guess none of the money that students pay tuition go to any of the sport teams at all...Also I pretty sure UK would still be able to field a basketball team without most of these donations from people, because those people would just be replaced by some other people wanting to donate money to the program for seats. If students got more seats in the lower arena, that would open up more seats in the upper areana, and with UK having such a huge fan base, I pretty much can guarntee you that there would be plenty of UK fans that would run at the chance to buy season tickets still even if they were in the upper arena. The people right now who pay all the money for the lower arean seats aren't the only fans of UK, and could be replaced by others...

Didn't UK lose more home games last year than they have in a long time??? And I know at most of the games they were all dead, even the close games...

It was because they had a bad team, not because there weren't enough students sitting in lower arena.
