This team did sign Irv Smith who, when healthy, is a very good TE.   The signed Orlando Brown at one tackle and will get Collins back, who hopefully lives up to hype.    Once those moves were made, TE

I know it would be a great story, and everyone would love to see the hometown kid on the hometown team, but the Bengals have zero obligation to draft Mayer. The NFL, as is all big time sports, is not

nfl.com says Bengals top needs were OL, TE and RB and that Bengals like to draft to their need. ?

The Bengals draft DJ Turner a CB out of Michigan with their 2nd round pick.

Did Bengals just trade back and lose their TE?

At this point I think the Bengals are planning to roll with what they got. Jonah at RT, allow Carman to compete for it. Then also allow Collins to recover from his injury. So the Bengals may not even take a lineman this draft.

I think if they draft TE Josh Whyle that they will get a steal at the TE spot. Then still need RB, possibly another Wr, and punter.

Fourth pick is WR Charlie Jones, Purdue.

The ESPN commentators loved this pick. Low 4.4 speed. Only 5' 11" so probably will play out of the slot. Tyler Boyd's replacement has possibly arrived. Jones is also a very good punt returner.

First offensive player for the Bengals is Purdue WR Charlie Jones. Perfect slot fit for Burrow.

    Bengals pick a RB.

Chase Brown, Illinois. Finished #4 in FBS in 2022 in rushing yards and total yards. Second team AP All American.

Looking at the Bengals picks versus where they were projected to go before the draft, Chase Brown is the best value pick by the Bengals so far.

The second best value is 1st round pick Myles Murphy. At one point, he was considered a top ten pick by some and virtually everyone had him gone by pick 20. Bengals got him at 28.

The Bengals had two 6th round picks and with their 2nd pick of the 6th round they select Brad Robbins P from Michigan.

Nice to see the Bengals' roster in such a good place that they can afford to draft specialists.
