Commanders sell for $6 Billion

The Washington Commanders have an agreement in principle in place for Josh Harris and his group to purchase the franchise for $6 billion, a source confirmed to CBS Sports. The deal will set an NFL record for the most expensive sale in league history.

The previous record of $4.65 billion was set last year...Denver Broncos.

Any sale of the team would have to be approved by three-quarters of NFL ownership...

Harris owns the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers and NHL's New Jersey Devils. His group in the Commanders bid reportedly includes D.C.-area billionaire Mitchell Rales as well as Basketball Hall of Famer Magic Johnson.

If the sale is approved, Dan Snyder will finally be out of the NFL. One of the more meddlesome and inept owners will take his money and leave. Hopefully the new owners can put some life back into this proud franchise.

That is a lot of money.

Hopefully it gets approved and we can focus on the upcoming season.

Pretty good return on investment. Paid $750 million of which he borrowed $350 million, 24 years ago.

Being a slumlord owner sure had it's benefits for Snyder. They are way past due for a new stadium and upgrades and he was too cheap to do so. Hopefully a new owner can bring life to the Nation's capital.

The real estate is a key factor in the price being so much higher than what Denver sold for.

Feels wrong.  Giving a man $6B for being a dirtball.

Snyder is probably on the Mount Rushmore of deplorable sports team’s owners. And he was simply crappy at the job. Good riddance.

That’s more dollars than football games watched by newarkcatholicfan. Chew on that for a while.
