The Warren East Ra Ra Raiders, led by 1st year HC Tanner Hall and QB/DB Dane Parsley (JR). A whooping 71 young men on the northern Warren County school, coming off of the best year in a decade finishing 12-1 in the 2022 football season the Raiders look to make a statement in the newly renovated 4A District 1. Long time district foe Allen County Scottsville follow the raiders out of District 2 while also being accompanied by Paducah Tilghman to join up with the likes of Calloway County, Hopkinsville, and reigning District 1 champion Logan County.

The Raiders Offense return the 6'2 200lb QB in Parsley who had a phenomenal sophomore campaign, a school record 30 passing Td's while also going for 1,562 yards on the ground for 27 Td's averaging 10.6 YPC. While the Raiders graduated the majority of the secondary production, they do bring back the most dominant of the previous year's bunch in WR/DB Trayton Price (SR) who went for another school record 12 Td receptions on 46 catches with 838 yards. The offensive line is anchored by the 6'6 300lb OT Ka'jarius Barber (SR).

The Raiders Defense have to see maximum production from their 3-year starting MLB Maddox Tarrence (SR) who has tallied 209.5 tackles, 5 INT's, and 2 defensive touchdowns as a Raider. Bringing back the leading tackler (73.5) of the '22 season is always a positive and you have that in DL Josh Collins (SR) who was also able to add 4.5 sack to his totals, having another threat in the trenches DL Matthew Cowles (SR) who generated 53.5 tackles and 3 sacks last year will help a defense who only brings back Price in the secondary. Expect Parsley to play a big part in the defense this year as well holding down the back end at FS, just an all around great football player who can lay some lumber as well.

Other Players to watch: RB Michael Clark (SR), WR/DB Mello Meade (JR), RB/LB Chris Taylor (SO)

It's no secret that the Raiders will have a tougher route to replicate the unscathed 10-0 regular season with a stouter schedule in 2023. Parsley may be one of the best players in the Southern Kentucky area, but it will be on the entirety of the team and coaching staff to have a successful season.

Prediction: I have Warren East finishing the regular season 5-5, 3rd in district. Winning on the road against John Hardin in the 1st round and then falling to Paducah Tilghman in the 2nd round of the state playoffs finishing the season at 6-6.

Very nice write up @TheBallCoach!

How many did Warren East have on their roster last year?

Was right around 60 last season, to my knowledge this will be the highest number in program history. Huge freshman class just came in sitting at 24 players.

If they go 5-5 in the regular season, that would be a colossal failure. Do not see that happening.

Agreed. Collossal might be a slight overstatement for my taste, but Logan County, Paducah Tilghman, Greenwood are the most likely spots to take losses, and I struggle to think of two more that I would really consider tossups.

Interesting write up very knowledgeable but I don’t really see them going 5-5 I think their only two losses are to PT and Hoptown so I’m going with 8-2.

Hard to believe a team with a 1st year HC taking a Warren East team who only returns three starters offensively and five defensively to a 5-5 record and a playoff win would be considered a colossal failure. A lot of turnover in the coaching staff with former Warren East HC/OC Jeff Griffith departing to Eastern Kentucky University and DC Chris Riggs to Bowling Green HS. The Raiders will rely on newly appointed HC/OC Tanner Hall who has been with the Warren East program for the past four seasons and DC Logan Baker who recently came in from Barren County HS to put the Raiders in position to be successful this 2023 season.

Opening up against two decent ball clubs in Daviess County and Greenwood, followed by two favorable but not guaranteed matchups in Barren County and a Mark Nelson Warren Central team who has started creating some noise in the community. Outside of the Calloway County game, Warren East will be tested by the other four teams in district play, and yes that includes rival Allen County Scottsville who will be looking to bounce back after dropping the last two meetings against the Raiders. Concluding the season on the road at bitter rival Franklin Simpson where the Raiders haven't won since 2007, it will be no easy road for this Warren East Raider football team.

Everything you said is accurate. I wasn’t implying it would be easy.

5 losses would still be a tough pill to swallow any way you slice it up.
