Warren Central 64 Ashland 48 (KHSAA Boys' Sweet 16®)

Featured Replies

Final. Ashland made a good showing when no one expected for them to keep it close.

Thought it would be 20 point differential, 16 instead.  WC led 10-16 the entire 4th.  They are going to be tough to beat.

Frankly Ashland did what they needed to keep it close, but likewise I really never felt there was real danger after around the midpoint of the third quarter. It was more of a nuisance of a game than one that felt in doubt. But Ashland hit some very clutch shots, played good defense. I was suitably impressed even if I didn’t really feel it was ever going to go against Central.

@DragonFire said exactly what we said in the stands. Ashland did almost everything right but it was never going to be enough. Warren Central was very methodical, in control from the tip.

Really thought this would be a blowout.

Can’t be anything but proud of how Ryan handled stepping into the HC position 2 weeks before the season started and how these young men bought into his plan. Congrats to WC and hope you guys finish this off with a championship. For the young tomcats they should be in excellent position to repeat as 16th region champions and this game shows them the work that needs to be done in the off season to be better prepared for a deep run in March.
