Sounds like Henry Clay is really missing Minniefield. Can they contend in the 11th without him?

Or Highlands has really picked their game up?? They gave CovCath all they could handle and almost sprung the upset!!

Highlands has lost four of five, that's hardly picking up their game.

My question was about Henry Clay. They seem to be struggling since Minnifield went down. Can they compete in the 11th without him?

Last two by three to CCH and 10 to HClay, both top 15 programs, after their start and without McGraw; sounds like picking it up some to me??

I guess I'm not going to get an answer on Henrly Clay, but they're probably not a top 15 team without Minnifield.

As for the rest if a team is 1-4 in their last five games, and you call that picking it up, I'd say you are confused.

Highlands certainly isnt packing it in Sandman. They havent earned the wins us Birds fans would like to see but playing hard and staying in games with CCH and Henry Clay is positive. Especially since McGraw, clearly their 2nd best player is done for the season. On the road, losing by 11 to a Top team in the state, I would say that is respectable.

I'm sure Willie and the Birds expect to win each time out so moral victories are probably not going to sit well with them. However, playing these games prepares them for the 9th region tourney which is what its all about.

I for one am impressed with the Birds for only losing by 10 points on the road to Henry Clay. I had predicted that Highlands would lose by 20+, so this really says something about the boys' from Ft. Thomas.

I will agree with gryche11 that this tough schedule will prepare them for the post-season.

Thinking very clearly thanks--You're obviously missing my point, ignoring it, or refusing to give the 'Birds even a little credit for playing better against better teams, without one of their best players?? Glad to see Willie keeping them on the right track, and hopefully they'll be rewarded with some wins!!

Congrats also to the Highlands JV who gained a victory on the road last night vs. the Henry Clayers. If anyone has any stats on this game please share as well as the Varsity game.

No stats. Heard it was a blowout. HHS dressed 5 frosh, 3 sophs and 1 Jr. Very young squad.

The five freshman are probably Grubbs, Kowolenek, Lother, Watson and Grote. Those are the players that dressed against Cov. Cath JV earlier this week.

Yes, they can. Moses and Boyd are two very good players. If Bowman will stop making so many turnovers the Blue Devils will be hard to beat.

Did I say they were packing it in? I said they've lost four of five, period.

Why all the spin control over a simple fact in January?
