I'd say Uebel and Kidney are just as quick (and more talented) than any of Scott's guards.

 

 

While Uebel and Kidney are good guards, they are nowhere near as fast as Sharp & Quigley and don't have more talent than these two.

 

Sharp & Quigley are averaging around 16-17 points a piece with Sharp dishing out 6-8 assists a game. I think they will hold their own against Uebel and Kidney.

With Holy Cross, Oak Hills, Henry Clay (with Minnifield I believe), and Mason County on the schedule, I think that Uebel and Kidney have been far more tested than Sharp & Quigley. But I am not going to change your mind- we will see on the 16th :thumb:

In the last 10 years, other than "out of bounds plays", Brossart rarely plays zone. Get ready for the toughest man to man defense in the state. Kidney will not have his hands full. He's played against them all. Cooper dominates.

Darius Miller is as quick as any guard in the 8th, 9th, 10th Regions (maybe exception Preston Knowles), and he held him to 10 points. I'll go out on a limb and say that Scott doesn't score above 45 point in this game.

I'll take any of the four on my team!! PPG not a true comparison here as Uebel and Kidney play far different roles on their team from Quigley & Sharp. While Uebel averages around 13 per game, and is probably their assist leader; Kidney is more of a true PG whose primary task is to run the team, but still averages around 8 or so himself. Quigley & Sharp are the primary scorers on their guard oriented team, while BB looks to pound it inside to Cooper & Mutsch. Sharp has indeed done a very good all around job running the team as well as scoring this year, but I see Quigley as mostly a scorer and maybe their best rebounder along with Miller I think?

 

I've got a feeling this game will come down to whose role players have the better games?? Guessing Cooper & Uebel will get their points for the Mustangs, and Sharp & Quigley will get theirs for Scott. Scott will be tested stopping the inside game of Brossart, and BB will have to overcome Scott's press and pressure "D" to even get the ball inside, and then have to deal with the Eagles in transition!! If those neutralize each other like they might, it may come down to who else steps up from last year's JV ranks, where BB had the upper hand in the one game they played, but that's probably meaningless. Ryan Smith could knock down some threes, Miller or Felts could contribute more than normal for the Eagles; but I think BB might have more options with Kidney able to score when he needs to, many seem to be forgetting their other twin tower, Mutsch; and they also offer Kramer, Lloyd, Niemeyer and Rebholtz, all who can score when needed.

 

Also doubtful the respective coaching staffs will show much in this game, as it's probably a preview of the district final come late February/early March!! Good luck to both teams, and as many have said; I guess we'll find out Tuesday!!

3311 you may be right that BB may have to resort a zone to try to neutralize the huge speed advantage Scott possesses?? Guess they will try Uebel on Quigley to start, although I'm not sure he's fast enough to guard him one-on-one??

They did lose by double digits to Mason, Christian, and Tates Creek, but the Eagles were down 6 late in the game against Christian, down by 6 late in the third quarter against Tates Creek and down by 10 in the fourth quarter to Mason. Unfortunately, Scott just runs out of steam due to starters having to play the whole game and no support from their bench in these games.

 

I just hope that the starters can last the entire game against Brossart or it might be another double digit loss!

Scott needs to score in transition. They don't want to have to run their half court sets against Brossart consistently. Scott's top three scorers in Quigley, Sharp & Smith are going to have to put up some points against a very tough Brossart man to man defense.

 

Game stays close for three quarters and Brossart pulls away with a 10 point win.
