I may have to disagree with you on that Scott not seeing a defense like Brossart's because Scott has played against some top defenses in Tates Creek and Christian County.

 

When it comes to defensive discipline, no one in the state can equal Brossart. Those two teams are athletic but I doubt they are as smart and disciplined as Brossart.

 

As for a prediction.....

 

Brossart by 15. Scott hasn't seen a defense like Brossart's.

Mason was 20 or so points better than Brossart on one horrible shooting night for Brossart (1/19 shooting in the first half). Mason was on defensively. Game at Brossart and effects seeding come district time. I just don't think Scott can match up with Brossart in the low post.

This same Brossart team beat Christian County by about 10 last season. High School basketball is all about matchups, not some type of similar opponents theory. With that being said, Brossart wins.

Does Brossart press a lot? If so, that will be a mistake because Scott is quick and breaks the press pretty effectively which usually results in them getting easy buckets.

I understand that Scott presses a fair amount. That was a mistake last season and may be Tuesday night.

This will be a good game just like the last few between these teams. Don't know much about Christian this year, but Tates Creek is the real deal. Did Scott beat them or play them close?? I know Scott is quick, but I would guess BB will still try to press a good deal against them, at least until it doesn't work!! Mustangs will have to be on their toes with their perimeter "D", and watch the driving lanes as the Eagles guards love to take it to the rack. Scott will have to stop the BB inside game, and I'd expect them to try to force the tempo. Should have a little bit of a playoff feel to this game, since the 37th seeding issue is at stake; although Scott will still need to get by Campbell!!

Scott will be tough especially with the way Sharp and Quigley have been playing of late. Those two cause matchup problems for Brossart.

No excuses, Brossart played bad, Mason played good. However, the two teams are closer than the score was that night. Even Mason fans agree with that...

I agree with you that Scott can't go inside against Brossart, but Scott does run the floor extremely well and I am not sure Cooper and Mutsch can run the floor all night. Hopefully it is a good game and maybe the Eagles can sneak out with a win.

Brossart definately has the size advantage however Scott is much quicker which will mitigate the beef somewhat. Sharp and Quigley can takeover any game and if Smith is hot Brossart may be in trouble. The Brossart big men will get their points but I look for someone other than them to be the difference maker. Home court is a big plus for BBHS.

Scott is a lot faster than they were last year. Howad was dominating inside but isn't what you would call a burner. McCord there 3-4 could hit from anywhere, but was way to slow to press with, Scott uses a much smaller faster lineup than last year, which causes a lot of problems for team that like to run out of the half court.

however Scott is much quicker which will mitigate the beef somewhat.
