45th district contest. I'll update after each quarter tonight. Do we have an upset or does Lincoln stay hot and take care of business? 

If Lincoln is fully healthy, they’ll win double digits.  Garrard has had some nice Wins, but also weird losses (1 win Apollo).  Lincoln will rotate bodies on Cooper and get physical with him.  Big opportunity for the Golden Lions, but don’t see them going into Lincoln Co. Just doesn’t happen! 

I'll say Lincoln County 59 Garrard 44. 

Garrard has to shoot well and take care of the ball. It would benefit them in this game to play from ahead (they've fallen behind several times this season but have been pretty successful in playing catch-up). Lincoln has the ability to squeeze the ball, slow the game down, and grind out victories. Garrard needs to avoid that.

I agree with everything that has been said. Hard ask of Garrard. They would need to shoot as well as they did from behind the line at DCA but Lincoln will play man primarily. Garrard will also need to take care of the ball, take good shots, and show patience. Their offense kind of strays from that as a rule.

I think Lincoln wins but in a close one. If Ethan Cooper gets hot like he did against Danville, I think they can pull the upset. Garrard will have the size advantage because Will Bishop is out with an injury. Coach Brandon Cooper deserves some credit for the job he has done this year. 

 

I'll take the upset if someone has to. Garrard 61-58. 

Is it confirmed Bishop is out?  I know he didn't play 2nd half against McCreary?  That's a "huge" loss for the Patriots, and Sulla inside will be a nightmare for them to box out.  Look for Lincoln to play a ton of 2-3 zone if that's the case.

With this one at Lincoln you will not get me to pick the Golden Lions. Also, I am still convinced the best player on the court overall is Tramane Alcorn though Cooper may in fact be a better offensive producer. Can Garrard win? Sure. But it would have to be a rock fight and Cooper and company would have to be shooting well, winning something like 45 to 43. With that said, I'll stick by my 59 to 44 prediction in favor of the Patriots.

Interesting. In this matchup, I think a higher scoring game favors Garrard while a low scoring affair is better for Lincoln.

Brandon Cooper has done a very nice job. For Garrard, they aren't super deep (but really no one in the region is). In the losses I've seen (in particular the Apollo loss @LethalPG mentioned) the lack of scoring down the bench really hurt. If they can get quasi-consistent play from their 4, 5, 6, 7 men then they can beat most anyone in the region. If they don't get that, then it becomes tougher.

Give me Lincoln tonight. I thinks Pats limit Cooper and take care of business tonight.  Bishop would help most definitely but Sims is capable of playing well. Garrard should utilize Sulla down low but they only use him as a screener for Coopers stat box. Give me LC 68 GC 49.

Who said he hasn't done a good job?  Always players over plays, I would probably lean towards his son as more important.  After he graduates, if he continues to coach will be a better test... Kudos to him for making them competitive in a tough district. 

 

Everyone has sang their praises all season.  When you lose to 1 win team, it's okay to say it's "weird".  As we know with teenagers, they have a tendency to lay eggs after big wins/tough games.  Hence, DCA beating Evangel Christian and overlooking Garrard in their 1st matchup.
