I remember going to Gatlinburg with my family once when I was a teenager. The traffic was not moving (does it ever move in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge?).  My dad turned off the ac in the car and rolled down the windows afraid the car would overheat. My brother and I said enough of this. We got out of the car, walked the last couple miles to the hotel and beat the car there. We sat in the air conditioned lobby in comfort waiting for the rest of the family in the car.

I like going to Gatlinburg, but the traffic is why I don’t go more often. It’s as bad as any major city I’ve ever been to.
