Sheesh. What happened to Union County’s defense?

 

I didn’t think Bardstown would put up this many points, but I did think they would score 35-40 after watching how much success Hart County had against Union last week. Bardstown just keeps answering the bell every single week. This has been a Crazy good coaching job by Coach Clark all year. He’s class 3A coach of the year in my book. 

Congrats to Union on a great season, and keep on winning Bardstown, I’m ready to see you win a state title again.

And this year, some blue collar lineman to boot. Shout out Chandler Newby, Aidan Riley, Hunter Morgan, Kris Sauter, John Floyd, Ryder Meredith, Blake Werner, Tyler Harmon. You all mauled people tonight.

A big congrats to Union to get to this point.  It truly is an accomplishment to get to 12-0.  With that being said, there was a noticeable difference in all aspects of the game.  While bardstown probably played their best game of the year you couldn’t convince me that bardstown wouldn’t win 8 times out of 10. 
 

This bardstown team couldn’t compete with past bardstown teams in terms of talent but there is something about them that fells different.  They just play so well together and do their part.

There are no primma donnas. These players legitimately enjoy watching one another succeed. The seniors like the freshmen and vice versa. They aren’t just friends, they fellowship with one another.

I also disagree about the talent. Shannon Tonge broke the all-time record for career receptions tonight. And Ty Ty Williams is a legitimate superstar packaged in a 5’5” frame. If he is not being considered for at least second team all-state, then there is something wrong with the sports media.

20 to Glasgow two weeks ago and 20 to Hart County last week had me worried about their ability to check Bardstown. I didn't expect Union to give up 66 but if there was a weakness this looked to be the one.
