I also disagree about the talent. Shannon Tonge broke the all-time record for career receptions tonight. And Ty Ty Williams is a legitimate superstar packaged in a 5’5” frame. If he is not being considered for at least second team all-state, then there is something wrong with the sports media.

 

I couldn’t agree more! Ty Ty and Shannon Tonge are special talent.  Shannon reminds me a lot of WenQuel Graves and Ty Ty is as special as any back that has came through in along time and that’s a hell of a list.  I just don’t think this team has as many athletes.  With that being said I like this team because they play as a TEAM and we are not relying on talent to wins games like years past.  That goes with coaching as well.  Coach Clark and staff are better than the playoff record shows and you could tell that this game wasn’t gonna slip away again. 

Bardstown winning - not a surprise.

Bardstown winning by 33 with 66 points scored - I'm surprised by that.

But they seem on a role now.  They will be a hard out.

Tigers defense held Union to -15 yards rushing, forced 3 turnovers and Union threw the ball a jaw-dropping 60 times. Score was 40-13 at halftime and Bardstown pretty much gave up the middle and the sidelines in the second half.

For some reason Union kicked to one of the most dangerous players in the entire state to opening the game and he took it to the house. 2nd or 3rd play Union throws a pick. Union does a fake punt inside their own 20 and doesn’t get it. 
 

IMO they went away from the run game to quick, and throwing 60 passes a game is never good.

They didn’t really play bad, per se, but they failed to score twice inside the 5, and allowed a clock-chewing 99 yard drive.

However, I think the principal reasons for last weeks rust was that we hadn’t really played anyone in 6 weeks (including 2 idle weeks), and we also had our QB back for the first time in 6 weeks and he was literally cleared two days before.

Bardstown was the better team Friday night. They were clicking on all cylinders offensively. Union didn't really go away from the run, just took what they were given. The secondary was definitely exposed. I don't expect Mason to beat them, but if CAL gets a bunch of stops defensively that one could turn into a running clock. 

I thought Bardstown might win this game but certainly didn’t anticipate this score. Bardstown has impressed me with what they’ve done especially with Greenwell out and the QB being out and only back a couple weeks ago.

This may be Bardstowns year. They have the pieces to contend with CAL

I like seeing the name “Bardstown” in the Semi’s a lot.

One of my favorite towns in Kentucky and a throwback to my childhood.

Think the Tigers is who I will be pulling for to win the 3A title.

Bardstown has also ran the ball a ton more this year, roughly 150 or so more attempts through 13 games as compared to last year.   I’m very happy to see them back, like ATL said, just nice to see them with a chance to go again.  Bardstown is a blue blood. They have been for years and will likely always will be.  
 

No doubt whatsoever the injury to Greenwell has set them back. He has been as electric as any playmaker in the state the last few years, but they still have Ty Ty and Baby. You don’t need a lot of dudes, just a couple, and they still have a couple (to put it lightly).  
 

Happy for Coach Clark and also seeing Mason County making their run. The Friday after Thanksgiving and football just go together and in the Bourbon City it just makes it even more special.
