I would like to see late season, quality wins count for more.  I would also be for throwing out at least one game per team in the calculation, maybe the worst game for any given team.

Bullitt Easts' schedule turned out weaker than they had hoped with several teams slipping this year from last year.  The hiccup against Spencer County didn't help either.  But they seem to get little to no credit for a couple of really big wins.  In the end it doesn't matter, obviously.  They will continue to win or their season will end sooner than they hope.  Fun to talk about but the numbers are a little puzzling to me.

Considering what BE did the rest of the season that game stands out as a head scratcher.

No, we can.  Spencer played a good game and didn't give up.  Bullitt East was hellbent on throwing the ball that day, even when up for the entire game except for the last 1:30.  They only had 14 true rushing attempts (Gauthier went for 111 yards on 10 carries and Egan ran ball 4 times; the other 3 attempts were sacks) vs. 32 pass attempts....and again, they were up the entire game except for the last 1:30.  It's a hard lesson learned, but a lesson learned nonetheless.  If Bullitt East runs the ball more in that game, they win.  The BE offense has been a lot more balanced since that game and it's shown in the results.  They have a tough game coming up this week against Central Hardin.  It will take everything they have to beat them.  "The people down highway 44 in Mt. Washington" wish Spencer County good luck in their upcoming game this week.

The final four are seeded by KHSAA RPI statewide. The current brackets are not static. They can change based on who wins and the RPI of the four remaining teams. In the final four, the #1 RPI team will host #4 and #2 RPI hosts #3.

I understand your comment.  Up until 3 or 4 weeks ago I would say to people when asked about it that I'd like to play them now, or if they played 5 more times I think BE would win all 5 or at least 4.  But the truth of the matter is each season, with the exception of an occasional second game in the playoffs, you only get to play each team on your schedule 1 time.  BE had it's chance to prove it was better back on August 26th and failed to do so. 

I think Spencer had a great year and were a very good football team.  To the victor goes the spoils and the bragging rights.  I still believe it was a hiccup on the part of Bullitt East.  But it doesn't matter what I think, the team didn't get it done.  So congrats to Spencer !

To be clear, no non-Louisville team gets to be the favorite until they beat the Louisville top four.  Zero.  None.  Noida.  Nine. 

 

With their latest win I hope BE is able to possibly eclipse a 92 rating.
