Coach Stan Hardin has passed away

Coach Stan Hardin who led Fairdale to two back to back titles in 1990 & 1991 has passed away.

Sad day.  One of the best dudes I ever met.  He's the king of the bluegrass to me.

I got to know him at the annual Athletics Director’s Conference in Louisville when I was our school’s AD from 1995-2005. He was a great guy and a lot of fun to be around with all his basketball knowledge and stories. 
Back to back state championships haven’t been done many times. I know Seneca did it back in the ‘60’s when Wes Unseld and Mike Redd starred for them.

He was also instrumental in the administration of the All "A" Classic State Tournament alongside of Stan Steidel.

Glad I was able to talk to Coach Hardin last year at the KOB.  Great man and great coach.
