Greenup County (7-4) travels back up US 23 to Louisa for their second matchup of the season at Lawrence County (9-2).

Greenup County is coming off a home playoff win, something they have not had in quite a while, 2007 to be exact.   Greenup County's losses have come at the hands of Raceland, Boyd County, Ashland and Mason County.  With big wins over Lawrence County, in the regular season, and over rival Russell.

Lawrence County has not experienced many losses this season, but one has been circled on their calendar all season - Greenup County.  Other than the loss to Greenup County, the Dawgs lost to Raceland.  Lawrence County's signature win of the season came against Belfry, someone they have not beaten often.

I think this one falls into that category of “hard to beat a team twice in one season.“ I’m going to go with Lawrence County.

Couldn't agree more.  This is one of those games that would scare me and have me wishing we had lost the regular season match-up.

I would say this will be one of the closer, more entertaining, games in the state this week.

I'm going to go with Lawrence County at home but I wouldn't be surprised if Greenup County wins, as one of Lawrence County's best players Kaden Gillespie is out with an injury. Kaden is a WR/DB.

Gillespie was Lawrence County's number one receiver, when I say number one, I mean he was their only receiver.  He has 32 reception on the season, the next receiver is two receptions.  He had 400 receiving yards, the next is 100 yards.  He was the second leading scorer, a fair distance behind leading scorer, Ferguson.

If the backup has two receptions for 100 yards they should try to get him the ball more!

I was thinking the same thing, but maybe it was immaculate reception type stuff. lol

With Gillespie sidelined, Greenup sells out to stop the run and beats Lawrence for the second time.

You may be right, unless Lawrence has a secret weapon receiver they haven't been using.  I know if I was Greenup, I would dare them to pass until they proved they could.

I expect this to be the fastest game in football.

Zach Moore, Greenup County, has gotten more conservative with the pass as the season has gone on, even though Greenup is actually pretty good with it and has seen success throwing the ball.

Coach Short, Lawrence County, is without his number on......his receiver and Lawrence is normally a run first team anyway.

This plays into both teams defensive strengths, they both are pretty good at defending the run game, with neither team passing that much, they will both stack the box and make their run defense even more potent.

Probably a low scoring, fast game.  I predict 1-38, that's one hour and 38 minutes with half-time.
