January 9, 200719 yr The thing is the Big 10's 3rd and 4th best teams beat the SEC's 4th and 5th best team respectively. IMO had Auburn played Wisconsin or Arkansas played Penn St then it would have been different. Of course I understand some won't agree with that, but you get my point. Arkansas finished as the #3 (at worst) team in the SEC. UT was #5...
January 9, 200719 yr That would mean the ONLY teams they could beat were from the mighty SEC. Ouch... You are picking the WRONG time to say anything negative about the SEC! In 2 of the 3 BIGGEST Games the SEC made Notre Dame and tOSU look like they weren't BCS worthy.
January 9, 200719 yr Also, tOSU looked like a National Champion against Iowa, Penn State, Michigan, North Western, Indiana........... They've played 1 SEC school this year I believe and I would bet they won't schedule any SEC schools in the future. It's too easy beating terrible teams week end and week out and still getting rewarded for it. (All this and I thought they would beat FLorida yesterday).
January 9, 200719 yr You are picking the WRONG time to say anything negative about the SEC! In 2 of the 3 BIGGEST Games the SEC made Notre Dame and tOSU look like they weren't BCS worthy. The WHOLE SEC is the point of discussion. And two SEC teams couldn't beat the exposed Big 11. Facts are facts...
January 9, 200719 yr The WHOLE SEC is the point of discussion. And two SEC teams couldn't beat the exposed Big 11. Facts are facts... But those facts lead you to believe what??????????????? What do meaningless facts prove? If they had lined up and played all the SEC schools agains tall the big 10 schools the SEC schools would come out on top. Picking 3 random bowl games means nothing to me.

If they had lined up and played all the SEC schools agains tall the big 10 schools the SEC schools would come out on top. Picking 3 random bowl games means nothing to me. Weak. If the SEC was 3-0 we'd be hearing it from every SEC homer on the site...
January 9, 200719 yr Weak. If the SEC was 3-0 we'd be hearing it from every SEC homer on the site... If the matchups were the same, yes.
January 9, 200719 yr You are picking the WRONG time to say anything negative about the SEC! In 2 of the 3 BIGGEST Games the SEC made Notre Dame and tOSU look like they weren't BCS worthy. Since everyone but those with financial considerations involved already KNEW that ND wasn't BCS worthy, I fail to see the import.
January 9, 200719 yr Here are the facts. The SEC was 6-3 in bowl games...2-0 in BCS bowls...Florida won the BCS Title game, convincingly...and they were 1-2 vs. the Big Ten. The Big Ten was 2-5 in bowl games....0-2 in BCS bowls (getting manhandled in both games)...and they were 2-1 vs. the SEC. Those are some basic facts. I think we can all draw our own conclusions based on that. I guess it depends on whether you put more stock in the overall picture, or the three head-to-head games. To each his own...
January 9, 200719 yr You don't see making outlandish claims like "Randolph Morris is going to be NCAA Player of the year", you don't see me calling for a coaches head at every turn and most importantly you don't see me creating false rivalries over a jumper from 15 years ago...
January 9, 200719 yr Since everyone but those with financial considerations involved already KNEW that ND wasn't BCS worthy, I fail to see the import.Apparently neither was OSU. Heck, at least ND put up some fight against a similar team as OSU faced and did a better job. Not stellar, I admit, but still. ND Sugar Bowl Stats: 1st Downs 17 Total Yards 291 Passing 148 Rushing 143 Penalties 4-40 3rd Down Conversions 8-16 4th Down Conversions 0-1 Turnovers 2 Possession 28:14 OSU BCS Championship Game: 1st Downs 8 Total Yards 82 Passing 35 Rushing 47 Penalties 5-50 3rd Down Conversions 1-9 4th Down Conversions 0-1 Turnovers 2 Possession 19:12
January 9, 200719 yr The WHOLE SEC is the point of discussion. And two SEC teams couldn't beat the exposed Big 11. Facts are facts... Once again do you REALLY feel like the Big Ten is better than the SEC? Wisconsin had a nice team all year long and won a close game. Penn State beat a Tenn team that fell apart down the stretch (remember KY had them beat if they don't take a delay of game in the redzone). When the Big 10 starts playing 9 games in their league, gets the recruites the SEC has and plays a confrence champoinship then they will take a few steps to be in the neighborhood of the SEC. How sad is the Big 10? Iowa doesn't play Ohio State or Michigan next year! That is the Big 2 in the Big 10 and you saw how bad they got waxed when they faced the better teams in the Nation! The Big 10 is WAY behind the SEC! Did Michigan beat anybody worth a dime this year? It's hard to believe now that they were even in the conversation for the top team in the Nation! They beat a Notre Dame team that got exposed by LSU, they lost a close one to Ohio State who got waxed last night by Florida!
January 9, 200719 yr Once again do you REALLY feel like the Big Ten is better than the SEC? That isn't what I said. I said they were 2-1 in Bowl Season... Did Michigan beat anybody worth a dime this year? They beat Wisconsin and Penn State. I bet those two could beat a SEC team or two if given the chance... :walk:
January 9, 200719 yr Author Florida made it look like the BCS didn't get it right. We didn't have the two best teams in the country last night.
January 10, 200719 yr Weak. If the SEC was 3-0 we'd be hearing it from every SEC homer on the site... Right because the SEC wasn't the best conference in football this year.
