I read this yesterday. It was a great article. I hope he has a speedy recovery. 

This is off topic, sorry. But is Dan Weber any relation to Don Weber who used to do the ICN6 stuff for local sports? 

Sounds like a humble young man. 

Huge loss for the Tigers.  Last year at the state finals, Mitchell played even though he had the flu.  You would never have known it though.  Don’t know him personally, but those that do say he is a class act on and off the field.  Wish him well on his future in college baseball.

Best wishes and a speedy recovery from the LCA Football family. Mitchell is dude and played the game the way it is supposed to be played. Best of luck in the future. 

Wish there were more games left for Mitchell, but the season he had is spectacular. Here are some highlights:

- He leads the entire state in scoring, averaging 20.2 points per game.

- Despite never placekicking in a game before this season, he finishes the year a perfect 19/19 on extra points and 1/1 in field goals. Kickoffs consistently landed in the end zone.

- Beechwood does not report tackles but at LB, Berger was the leader of one of the top defenses in the state, forced 2 fumbles and a safety.

- He was a huge factor in the punting game flipping the field with 50 yard plus punts and pinning opponents inside the 5 yard line multiple times. 

- He finishes the year basically tied for second in rushing in 2A with 1,119 yards at 9.2 yards per carry and scored 21 TD's rushing.

- Also a weapon as a receiver, he caught 19 passes for 251 yards and 2 receiving TD's.

Thanks for a year to remember Mitchell Berger!! I have never seen a season like it before and doubt I will ever see it again.
