There are 8th graders playing freshman ball at places other than Beechwood, see Highlands. I’m not here to tout Highlands or a bunch of 13 year olds. But on paper, this group has not lost to another NKY school in 2 years, and in all likelihood will have back to back undefeated NKMSAA seasons a week or two from now, with no games this season being close. That’s all.

Hey you may be right and Highlands may run through everyone next year. I know this year there were some Highlands people even talking about this year Highlands freshman team possibly going undefeated and yet that didn’t happen. The good news is they will get a chance to go out and show it next year, and see if they can continue to dominate like they have at the middle school level.

It is not uncommon, and teams sometimes will have an 8th grader or two if they are really good players. I know Cooper before this year, usually had an 8th grader or two play freshman as well. Its not

Not always. IMO, people read way too much into middle school and Freshman football. What happens at these levels does not always indicate future performance. I can't tell you how many times ultra successful middle school freshman teams end up being just average varsity teams and vice versa. Some kids mature later, some sooner. Kids transfer in and out, some quite playing, some don't start playing until later. Sure it's fun to speculate, but you just never know how 13-14-15 years olds will develop and what they will be when they are 17-18.

I agree notice how I said nothing about varsity. What you are saying is exactly my point. Just because one team may have been beating another school in middle school, doesn’t mean anything once they are freshman. Just like if a team wins as freshman, that doesn’t mean anything in regards to when they are varsity. So maybe I worded it wrong, but I agree with you.

On the late squib kick, who cares? A big nothing IMO. People get way too caught up in those things. It had zero impact on anything in the game and clearly was not an attempt to run up the score.

Is it just me or is three pages about FRESHMAN football a little much? Come back in three years and see how those groups faired. Projecting about next year's freshman teams and who will steamroll people? A possible squib/onside kick? Geesh.... just play the games, develop the players, and keep them involved.
