I have to disagree with Lexington Catholic being #1 they lost to Covington Catholic 7-6. Pikeville played them Very Well and Corbin beat Pikeville alot easier than the score indicated.

Considering CCH beat Pikeville by 3 more points than Corbin one could argue that gives LexCath an advantage if anything is based off Pikeville.  Also, in my opinion, the CCH victory over Pikeville could have easily been greater just like you mention about Corbin.  Additionally, LexCath beat Boyle County and Corbin barely beat both Pulaski County and Simon Kenton.  With all that said, we struggled this week with how to rank Corbin, Boyle, and LexCath in 4A, it is so close!

Looks ok with me.  You beat the 2 time defending State Champion you deserve their spot.

I understand the logic behind that decision, just don't agree lol. Wouldn't want to be the one trying to rank them either!

For sure, if it was up to me I would still have Boyle County at number one and I realize that sounds silly to many people but it is how I feel.

I feel like they are still number 1,don't agree with Lexington Catholic being there.Nothing against them they just scored 6 points against CCH. I think Pikeville 1A school scored around 20. If they hadn't been down so far to Boyle having to take deep shots they wouldn't have figured out Boyle is struggling defending the deep ball.

I feel Boyle is the best team too but that is not what the scoreboard said Friday night. ?‍♀️

As far as Corbin goes many on here will tell you our staff will not show you too much.Sometimes it makes our scores get way too close. Pikeville being the prime example,we took the air out of the ball and could have scored at will.

Corbin is a clearly a major threat to win it all.

I think good arguments can be made for either Lex Cath or Corbin at #1. Lex Cath has an edge in strength of schedule and they beat the champ. I throw out the CCH score because I strongly believe CCH would beat Corbin too. The fact that Lex Cath only lost by 1 point to CCH actually adds to their case for #1 in my opinion. No fault to Corbin. You play the schedule you have and Corbin's schedule is also very strong, but not as strong as Lexington Catholic's.

Looking ahead, I think this debate will be decided the last game of the season when Lexington Catholic plays Scott County.

For what it's worth, this is how close it is in this class. Calpreps.com statewide rankings has:

7. Lexington Catholic

8. Boyle County

9. Corbin

I know Boyle fans think they should be number one but the fact is you loss it’s just a ranking that really doesn’t mean anything. If you want to be number one take care of business in the playoffs. If you lose to someone in the playoffs are you going to say you still should be state champs because you have the best team that’s just not how it works.

Who said we think we should be #1?  Have I missed a couple of post?

Read above. Now I admit I don’t know if these guys are Boyle fans or not but seemed that way.

Looking at the threads, I didn't see any Boyle fans saying that Boyle should be #1 after losing to Catholic.  Plus all the Boyle fans I've talked to think that we should be #3.  So can you let me know what Boyle fan has said that and we will talk to them.
