I haven't watched either of these teams but will go with the Purples just because of former Purple QB and long-time Bardstown Head Coach David Clark.

This game is a hard one to predict. 

BG has face Boyle County which is better than South Warren and BG has faced Father Ryan which is better than South Warren.

BG lost at home to Boyle County by two touchdowns. BG made some mistakes, but Boyle County is a better team than BG was at that time. BG went on the road and beat a dang good Father Ryan team on Homecoming. But Father Ryan controlled the game the whole time except at the end and BG needed a tricky two-point play to win. That was a heck of a win for BG. The Purples are definitely more battle tested.

BG seems to just now hitting its stride. I think other than turnovers, this game comes down to two things:

1. Can BG consistently hit big plays on offense?

2. Is South Warren able to control the line scrimmage and have great success running the ball?

I just don't know the answer. BG's defense has some issues and if South's OL is tough as they usually are, it could be problematic for BG. If BG can score and have the big play ability than South could be in trouble. 

I know South didn't look very good against 4A Central, but my guess is were holding a lot back. And I don't blame them. They've also had two weeks to prepare for this game with that easy schedule and BG has had to focus week to week.

I'm going to pick.

Thanks for the prediction man. Like you said BG's last two opponenets are better than South Warren, but anything goes in a rivalry game. I believe that experience on the O line will be the difference for BG. Austin Anderson looked like a machine on both sides of the ball as well. It'll be very interesting to see him and the rest of the line match up on South's #38...

Anderson is a beast!!!  I hope BG is able to get some subs in and out cause they are going to attack him and try to wear him down.

it’s just hard cause I don’t know how good South Warren actually is cause of their schedule.  If Bg wins by two score it wouldn’t shock me. But it wouldn’t shock if BG loses by two score too.

I would expect a packed house at BG and that will be interesting.  The hill and grassy area pretty much gone. And there are nice visitor’s seating area over there now. So all of BG fans will be packed on the home side with the South fans all on the other.

Bowling Green High School has won 6 out of the last 10 state titles in 5A just on it's own.

The ebb and flow of this rivalry makes it a hard one to pick most years. This is one of those occasions. I've waffled a few times already. 

Right now, I'm leaning Purples. Bailey has come into his own this year and I love the way he handled the pressure last week. He made throws, he scrambled, and even caught the game winner. He's a star glowing up right in front of our eyes.

I'm holding off on locking in my vote until Friday, because I have commitment issues, lol. I could be wearing silver and black tomorrow, idk.

Conyer really needs to show out against the Purples. He's been relatively quiet so far this season. One catch, pick, or kick return could swing this game and he's the best candidate to make any of the three happen.

Come on Killowatt! All the smack talk about SW SOS etc and you don’t have the confidence to pick your team at home to a 2 loss SW team?? I expected better. Surely after BGs big win over Father Ryan who you stated was better than SW, you have enough pride to pick your purples!

Typical Lawyer speak. I’ve never called into a sports show ever. You’ve never said one good thing about SW. Take continuous shots about their schedule etc, Evernote BG plays is tougher but somehow you pick BG to lose to them by double digits at home.

I guess you can call them shots, but they’re factual statements.  South Warren’s SOS was quite awful in the past, they’ve picked it up.  They refused to play BG until they had to anyways, would’ve loved to running clock them in 2016??‍♂️
