I guess you can call them shots, but they’re factual statements.  South Warren’s SOS was quite awful in the past, they’ve picked it up.  They refused to play BG until they had to anyways, would’ve loved to running clock them in 2016??‍♂️

It’s also factual that SW is 5-4 against BG since they started playing. You guys always go back to “they refused to play us”. Let’s not forget that SW is 12 yrs old and BG has been around how long?

Most non casual fans of sports especially football understand that it takes years to develop a competitive and successful program. Jumping in head first against established successful programs wouldn’t have been the smartest move. Mark Nelson and Brandon Smith knew that.

It’s simply factual, I actually complimented their SOS in the past years.  I played on the BG teams that didn’t get to play SW, it got quite tiring hearing how good SW was but they wouldn’t drive 10 minutes to play.

Also, let’s not act like South Warren wasn’t filled with talent from the surrounding schools.  Considering the school took many Greenwood and Warren Central kids.  They even won a state championship in 2015, I think they were ready to “dive in” by then.  To each their own, I will never like Richpond Highschool and clearly you don’t like Bowling Green.  I guess that’s what makes a rivalry.

Pot calling kettle black here.

Are the Purples going to be getting any defensive starters back for this one? As much as I'd love to sit here and trust the always tough defense BG employs, it's very hard to come around to SW not scoring a solid number of points if they are still as decimated as they were the past week and even in to the second half of the Boyle game.

Only thing I will say, by 2015, South Warren was beating the brakes off people such as Johnson Central, Pope John Paul II (TN), John Hardin, North Hardin, Central Hardin, etc.

I don't (and didn't) find it hard to play Bowling Green with the results being what they were playing against those teams. I'm sure you disagree, and that is fine. But to say SW was still "developing" in to some established program by then in order to play the Purples is a disservice.

Sure, they may have lost said games, but at what point does a loss to Bowling Green prevent your program from being developed in to competitive and successful?

Just my thoughts.

Again, everyone on here wants to state facts. We can go back and forth about what year they should have started playing until the cows come home.

Facts are since 2017, SW has a 1 game edge. The purples could even it up tomorrow night.

I'm not sure either of these teams are SC caliber this year but I’ll still roll the dice on SW and their coaching staff.

On your last point, you're saying neither of these teams could win state? Much props to Freddie D and Woodford, but you're selling this city's talent short my guy. Both staffs are also well versed in winning state titles...

I don’t see BG or South Warren having enough to win state. It would surprise me if either one even made the championship game.

if Fredrick Douglas doesn’t win it this year then someone over there needs to take a serious look at the program.

You may be right bro, there's a couple clear cut top teams this year based on talent. The games tonight and vs Saint X will let us know if the Purple could take that step. And like you said, if FD doesn't finally win a title, there may be some new faces on the staff. There's way too much talent to pass thru there to not have 1 man.

We can agree on this!

I wish you hadn’t. The younger crowd in this rivalry crosses the line IMO. Both sides.
