My nephews school Prince Avenue Christian advances to the Georgia 1A-Div 2 State Finals by defeating St Francis 24-20. They improved to 13-0 and will meet 13-0 Swainsboro in the Finals.

Two teams they defeated in the regular season have already went on to win State Championships.

Baylor (TN) defeated Montgomery Bell Academy and Hammond School (SC) won their title as well.

As of now Calpreps has Prince as the #82 team in America.

Prince Avenue Christian 52  Swainsboro 34

In a battle of unbeatens, Prince Avenue overcomes a 10 point Second Half deficit to pull away from the loaded Swainsboro squad.

Swainsboro had a huge night from UNC commit Ty Adams who had 259 yards rushing and 4 TD's and got some nice contributions from their two other Power 5 recruit speedsters, but ultimately Prince Avenue's tempo and scheme wore the Tigers out.

Prince Jr. QB Aaron Philo, who entered leading Georgia in passing yards and TD's, had a monster night throwing for 21/32 for 477 yards and 6 TD's. As good as Philo was, the story was two of his receivers. Sr Bailey Stockton broke his collarbone in the 2nd Round of the playoffs. He insisted on playing despite being told he should not and had his father sign a waiver to allow him to participate in the State Finals. He answered with 145 receiving yards and 2 TD's.

The Finals MVP was Senior Josh Britt. Britt caught 3 TD's and had 201 receiving yards, he also had a monster game on defense with multiple tackles, a forced fumble, and a key Interception that allowed Prince to ice the game.

Swainsboro jumped out to a 20-7 lead in the First Half but Prince Avenue refused to go away. They drew the game to 20-17 at Halftime. Swainsboro extended their lead to 27-17 in the 3rd Quarter. PAC answered to close the deficit back to 3 before Swainsboro once again answered with a long TD to make it 34-24. Prince proceeded to score the next 28 points, gashing the Tigers with three long TD passes and after Britt's Interception a long rush TD.

Not sure what Lake Wales is doing. They get a great kick-off return to their own 42, rush on 1st, then pass on 2nd and 3rd downs. They got a defensive holding call on the 3rd down pass and gained a 1st down on that. Still strange play calling.

Florida State Finals

Metro Category

M2

Miami Central 38 American Heritage 31

Central led 31-13 at the half. Heritage cut the lead to 7 and got the ball on their own 37 with 3:01 to go. They drove to the Central 34, but a fumble on a pass completion at the Central 24 ended any hopes for Heritage.
