Did you or anyone catch it when they said that he could throw a football 40yds. when sitting on the ground..............WOW! Some people may not realize what kind of arm strength that takes. (also was stated that he throws a football 60yds. + from one knee!) Any team that picks Jamarcus Russell over Brady Quinn will rue the day they did. Russell has always looked great when LSU is playing someone who can't match their talent level...but he doesn't look that good when they play teams who can go toe-to-toe with them...check out his performances against Auburn and LSU. It's been pretty obvious to everyone that LSU was the most talented team in the SEC this year (and probably for the past 2 or 3 years)...if Russell was as good as some say, you'd think he could have quarterbacked them to an SEC title. Yes, he's got the physical tools that few have, but I'm not sold on him. He may prove me wrong, but I'm not expecting him to be a great NFL QB. I say match, but in all honesty, I think LSU is more talented than those teams too, but the gap isn't as significant... 1) Auburn - Russell lead LSU to a whole 3 points in that game 2) Florida - 10 points, 1 TD, 3 Int 3) Tennessee - 3 TD, 3 Int Like I said, he looks great when LSU is facing an opponent that is overmatched...it's a different story when they do. He's not going to have the luxury of being on a team that is overwhelming opponents with talent in the NFL. I'll stick with my opinion of Jamarcus Russell and wait for him to prove me wrong.

Another team will opt for a pure pocket passer and they will select Quinn. Both will make lots of $$$ real soon. FYI, what has Quinn ever done against superior talent? My point is that Russell has quarterbacked arguably the most talented team in college football east of Southern California for the past 3 years and they haven't even so much as won an SEC championship. If he were that good, I think they'd have managed to eek one out in 3 years...

I am as huge of Brady Quinn and Notre Dame fan out there... but what is the difference in what Quinn has done in big games compared to what Russell has done in big games that would make you want to draft him??? I will give you that Quinn's talent is not even close to that of what Russell has around him. But part of being a winner and good player is elevating players around you. This is why I think this group of QBs (Quinn, Russell, Brohm, et al.) may not be near as good in the pros as people believe... Troy Smith has been the only proven player to always elevate his game in big moments.

I will give you that Quinn's talent is not even close to that of what Russell has around him. But part of being a winner and good player is elevating players around you. This is why I think this group of QBs (Quinn, Russell, Brohm, et al.) may not be near as good in the pros as people believe... Troy Smith has been the only proven player to always elevate his game in big moments. I'm not sold on them being dead locks at the next level either...I just like what I see from Quinn and Brohm better...I guess I just expected more from Russell considering his physical tools and the talent around him. I like the odds of Quinn and Brohm being successful in the NFL better than Russell's.
