January 4, 200719 yr I'll help you find a few positives: - Sheray Thomas has overcome the idiots (me included) that have trashed him and is now making a contribution - Obrzut is no longer afraid to shoot it, and he can consistently make a mid-range jumper - Morris was 10-12 from the free throw line - Morris had another double-double (20 and 10); also had 4 blocks and 3 assists - The team had 19 assists and only 10 turnovers - Meeks had 8 points and 9 rebounds off the bench - Jasper had 12 points and 6 assists - The defense held Houston to 36% shooting - UK won :thumb: A nailbiting win at home against a team that is 5-7... Why didn't you include that one? I kid. Sort of.
January 4, 200719 yr I would hate to lose him also but he has to have thicker skin than that. He can't sulk just because things do not go his way at all times. That is part of the game, there will be ups and downs and it is how you handle each that determines your success. Porter has a lot of upside but as a Freshman he will make mistakes and he just has to stay positive and work through them. Porter wont go anywhere. Its a non-issue.
January 4, 200719 yr I'm sure Tubby was trying to prove a point after Porter fired up a bad shot, but I mean really - he only played 2 minutes against a zone defense and he is probably the best pure shooter on the team. If he was benched because of poor shot selection, then Crawford and Bradley should probably go ahead and transfer. My vote goes to Meeks.
January 4, 200719 yr If we would rebound they wouldn't have been able to shoot it 75 times... 51 rebounds is a lot of rebounds. Probably more than we have had all year. We won the rebounding margin by +13 and also had more offensive boards than they did.. The style of offense they run allowed them to take 75 shots, not our lack of rebounding. Check Houstons season stats, it seems to be normal for them to take around 70 shots a game, one game they threw it up 83 times. Also, just glancing at their schedule it looks as every game they have won thus far, they have shot the ball more than 70 times. It had nothing to do with UK, just the style of ball Houston plays.
January 4, 200719 yr Happy that the Cats got the W. Now it's time for the 2nd season to start, the SEC.
