Nice offer but not feasible.

Does anyone know what the Beechwood schedule is, or at least a partial schedule.

Dixie, Lloyd, CCH, NCC, HC, Bellevue, Dayton, Ludlow, Brossart not in this order w/one game to fill, if I have my info correct.

Elliott has a great arm and Beechwood needs to utilize it more so teams dont put 8 in the box every play. The only ? is who is he going to throw too? They lose there number 1 wide reciever (kayaitos) and also another good one in Finan.

They will have new recievers to throw to, Amelung is back, Daniels will be back and finally healthy and watch for maybe Colosimo(soph to be) to run some slot w/great hands.

It appears that many of you are assuming that Beechwood only ran the ball last year .....

The final end of year (12 games) breakout for Beechwood was:

54% Run

46% Pass

That also includes games where Beechwood did nothing but run the ball to avoid running up the score.

There is a lot more balance there than what most people obviously realize.

They were not balanced early against CCH, until they got down a lot.

Overall stats mean nothing, especially in high school; what matters is their balance and success against the good teams when the games are still in doubt.

Thats one game out of 12 .........

If the overall numbers balance out that way--there is probably some type of relationship with the rest of the games overall (be careful there .... I probably already know the answer to that ... game by game). Especially when you consider how many games were "blow out control" strictly with the run.

At the end of the day--if you take out the blow outs--you would realize that you have a team that passed a little more than the alternative.

At the point of the post--is that Beechwood is a lot more balanced than some of you are letting on. Not to mention the fact that this isn't the reason why Beechwood lost any of their games this past season. Beechwood has had the same O-Coordinator calling the offense for the last 5 years. And each year--he is very close to perfectly balanced.

Depth is the key issue. And I have a feeling that is being worked on as we speak.

In previous years, Beechwood was more balanced; this year the burden was on Tommy Bankamper.

The stats mean nothing, really; games like Alter and both NCC games where they were behind skew the supposed "balance" because at the end of the game, the passing numbers are going to be higher.

In addition, the influence of a new head coach influences play calling; so even though they have the same offensive coordinator, the play calling was different this year.

The only thing that I will say--is that I should have known better by now .........

If you don't realize that teams who are losing by a TD or more have to throw the ball a lot to get back into a game and to keep the clock from moving on incompletions and first downs, then no one can help you.

I have no clue how I (and others) have made it this far without utilizing that gold nugget you just dropped on us ........... I feel like I have been touched by an angel.

With this vast knowledge ... you may want to consider a career change to football coach.

Again--this is what I get for going back and forth with a football genius.

Enough you two. Take it to PMs if you must.

quick, my point about the passing this year has nothing to do with the past. The point I am making is Beechwood will probably be unstoppable as a running team (against 1A teams) but that shouldn't stop them from being balanced no matter how seductive the run will be.

3pt, you are stating the problem with JV football, Beechwood needs to be working on the solution right now and not wait until the season only to find out half their schedule either can't or won't play them.
