Kind of a sloppy game with 5 total players fouling out, I feel like the refs wasn't letting either team get in a groove. I never question coaching but Danville had me scratching my head. First, why would you have Hayden guarding Imfeld. That was a complete mismatch, Bryant is your best defender so why not have him on him. 2nd, what kind of offense was you running all I witnessed was a bunch of one on one basketball. I will hardly ever say this about an Ed McKinney coached team but I think Coach Webb out coached McKinney tonight. Webb took Jaylen Dunn completely out of the game. They walled up on him and did a great job. Jaylen Dunn has got to work on his free throw shooting. Against Boyle the last two games he's 0/14. He has got to work on that because he's always getting fouled because he plays so hard. Boyle County was the tougher more physical team with better shooters. Imfeld wow just wow kid is legit, he hit some big time 3s tonight. All in all Boyle was the better team and they advance to play Boyle Friday. Before I go, Demariah Brown is going to be very very good. I heard he's a football star, but man can he play and defend. Love his game. Good luck rebels and IMO the Ads will be a team that can be dangerous next year returning 4 starters. 

I agree with @Statsdontlie. I think Danville knows what they have to improve on and return more than most. They gave a top tier team their best punch and they have a chance at being top 3 or 4 in the region next year.

Danville never runs structured offense.  It's 4 Out Dribble Drive and transition game.  I agree with you on Dunn.  IF, he gets a jumpshot he will be a killer.  Although this district was bear this year, I never waivered in believing Lincoln and Boyle would be there when the dust settled.  There's a belief in both of those programs that they will prevail when it's time to get the job done.

I do think you'll see some of the younger Danville players able to step out and flourish now that Hayden is finally graduating.  Not a knock, but when you have a volume shooter like him it's sometime difficult for "the others" to find offensive rhythm.  

Danville had way too many breakdowns on defense. Boyle County got a lot of uncontested layups. 

Danville came to play but just fell short to a more experienced team. I feel like Danville was successful for most of the game by causing turnovers on defense and attacking the rim. Obviously in comeback mode in the 4th they started taking some questionable shots and got away from what was being successful. Hopefully they learn from that in the future.

Big turning point in the game was Hill fouling out with about 3:30 in the 3rd quarter. Your only player above 6'0 in the rotation fouling out that early will obviously cause problems. On the other side though, Imfield and Tarter both were in foul trouble and ended up fouling out mid 4th. If Danville could have just stopped the bleeding and kept it to an 8-10 point game rather than 16-18, they could've possibly made a run at tying or the win.

Was a great game and atmosphere to attend! 

 

Key point in the game was Tarter and Imfeld going out with 4 fouls in the third qtr.  At the time, Danville was down 3.  Boyle increased the lead with their best player and physical inside presence on the bench.  

Tarter had some questionable fouls called against him IMO, but IMO he is the key to BC making it to Rupp.

I was thinking the same thing on Hayden, when you are a scorer like him and being a 5th year senior I'm sure he had to take a lot of shots. Playing with 2 freshman that never played varsity was probably also a factor on his shot taking. He could've been better on the defensive end though. It seemed like every time Danville would go up Boyle County would have a wide open 3 or driving right by Danville defenders. Hayden had a great career and I wish him nothing but the best moving forward. It's time to give the keys to Brown, Hill, Bryant, Jackson and Dunn. Next years team should be fun to watch and way better defensively. I'm sure Coach Ed McKinney can't wait to get them boys started!

Also, Tre Paige should be returning next year and is only a freshman. He is kind of forgotten due to being lost to injury. From my understanding, he had a lingering knee injury that forced him to shut down for the season. He appeared in 10 games this season and started a couple at the beginning.

Also, Mason Engle (transfer from Boyle) sat out this year after transferring around Christmas and ACL surgery recovery. He at least adds another big body that can help with the Ads size issue. Should be good to go in about a month or so to resume basketball activity.

I agree with this. Terrific rebounder and better offensively than he gets credit for. Creates a lot of havoc out front when Boyle plays zone. He also does so many little things that don't always show up in the stats. Just an excellent player.
