Highlands 56 Cooper 45

Featured Replies

Interesting fact pointed out by the broadcast team - neither team scored more than 8 points in a quarter on the one rim. Highlands had 6 in Q1, 8 in Q2. Cooper scored 8 and 8 on that rim in the second half. Rim on the wall next to the entrance, 30 points. Rim on the opposite end, 69 points.

Electric atmosphere. Loved the fight these Birds showcased thru the whole game.

Prayers to Leyton Reed, get will soon. Went down ackwardly in 3rd qtr with a possible knee injury.

GO BIRDS!

@B-Ball-fan going to be an interesting write up tomorrow, cant wait to see how you sort this all out in the 9th.

I haven't seen a lot of games this year, but my read on the 9th is this is a down year. Cov Cath is clearly the best team up here IMO. I don't see anyone beating them. And yet I would say this Cov Cath team would be ranked near the bottom of the Ruthsatz coached teams at Cov Cath.

That rim on the entry end has had a lot of play in it for long time, very noticeable.

CCH on the perch, and throw a blanket over the remaining teams.

Buddy texts me: "We (Cooper) lead Highlands 31-18 at the half," and then nothing until I see this thread.  Now I get it.

What a turnaround.

First game I have seen in person this year.  Game MVP Nathan Vinson.  His defensive pressure on the ball forced numerous turnovers and also prevented Cooper from getting in their sets.  Really like the grit and determination of Oliver Harris.  He is the straw just as he was last year.  Barth was solid in all aspects.

No surprise the Birds turned up the heat on February 12 to get a W, # 212.

Hmmm ... ok. I watched the whole game and didn't see an MVP level of impact out of Vinson. He made some nice plays. If you are looking for the unexpected hero for MVP, it would be the Moeves kid who went on an 8 straight point scoring spree that included two 3 pointers and turned the game around. Harris and Barth comments I agree on. If I am picking a game MVP for Highlands, it is Barth.

And that is why you are rightfully named VOR!

You have your opinions and I have mine.  I don’t always look to the best players for their impact.  Vinson was a huge presence on the defensive end and was a big reason Cooper struggled offensively in the second half.  Had nothing to do with the basket.  Offense sells tickets, but DEFENSE wins championships.

Don’t really care about MVP!  Who got moeves the ball. Just a question all should think about. Create and see, basketball presence. If Zach made shots in 1st half not such a deficit, it happens.
stops, rebounds and foul shoots.
fun to watch, lots of blood though, Refs did Umm ok. love coopers coach. Respect to him and players.

You ain't lying. I'll probably toss and turn all night trying to figure out where everyone belongs. LOL!

Yep, I saw all that. And I agree on defense. No doubt the Highlands defense won that game because, honestly, neither team was very good offensively.
