A player should be able to decide whom he does or does not want to be on. Each side , in this case , would be taking a chance. The Raiders would be taking a chance that Brohm will stick to his guns. Brohm would be taking a chance that the Raiders draft him and test his will. Where's the harm? Why is it Brian Brohm's responsibility to help the NFL and go somewhere he doesn't want to go? Lastly, should B Brohm make this risky decision, would he lose some of his luster in your eyes?

I am confused as to why you think your opinion is more accurate than that of trained professionals whose job it is to make these kinds of decisions. Obviously they know something you don't.

I didn't say that he wasn't any good, I just said I don't think he has done anything to deserve being the #1 pick. If I were looking to take a QB #1 in the draft, I would take Brady Quinn, Troy Smith, Chris Leak, or even Jamarcus Russell before I would take Brohm. I think you should first prove you are the best college QB in your state before you are crowned best in the nation.

I don't think Troy Smith is predicted as a first round pick at this point.. however I would take Quinn or Russell over Brohm... though I admit that Brohm may be a better pro prospect, if I was a scout I would be infatuated with Russell's ability to throw the freaking ball around 80 yards it seems...

Needless to say I'm familar with Russell. Great upside but very raw in a number of ways. Troy Smith is barely six feet tall. Ditto for Leak. Quinn may be taken before Brohm. Most have them very close. FYI, the "Sporting News" had Brohm #1 in their mock draft to Detroit (I realize that Oakland has beaten Detroit in the loser bowl). Just wondering, where do you see Andre going in the draft?
January 2, 200719 yr I would love to see Brohm go #1 and Petrino take over the Raiders.....Porter and Moss wouldn't want to leave if that were to happen....
