Raiders-Petrino-Brohm

Featured Replies

With the Los Angeles Raiders winning the distinguish honor of the first pick in the 2007 NFL Football Draft. I wonder if Al Davis would think about coming back after Louisville Coach Petrino again and he have the chance to draft Louisville's Brian Brohm not only the first Quarterback, but the first player in the Football Draft?:argue:

I mentioned this in a thread earlier this week. I think it is a serious situation to watch unfold...

Some very inside sources tell me that if the Raiders show any interest they will be told that the Brohm family will pull an Archie/Eli Manning type move. Another inside source tells me that Nick is leaning towards walking on at UofL will his dad. I don't think that would be the plan if Bobby was leaving. With all that said, rumor has it that the Raiders don't think that QB is their biggest need. I guess that about covers it.

You have inside sources on what the Raiders are thinking? You might want to let them know. They don't seem to have a clue...

Thought they were still looking at Gino

Didn't claim to have any inside info from the Raiders. The rumor mentioned is garden variety ESPN chatter.

just for the record... it is no longer the Los Angeles Raiders... they are in fact the Oakland Raiders

If I'm Brohm and decide to come out, I 100% pull an Eli and tell the Raiders "no thanks - don't waste your time."

After all, it worked out so well for Eli...

It did work out. He wanted to go somewhere other than San Diego and that's exactly what happened. Brohm should do the exact same thing.

He wanted no part of what he thought was a poor situation in a place that wasn't going to win. Oops...

I think its a little deeper than that. I think Eli wanted to be in a big $$$ market. He got what he wanted. Too early to tell if it worked out. I wouldn't be putting too much hope in the Chargers playoff chances, Marty is still the coach.

I was thinking the other day that worked out well for the Manning family as the Chargers look loaded and the Giants are stumbling with Rivers tearing the league up and Eli struggling.

Wasn't Nevada a possibility as well? Nevada IS pretty close to Oakland!

Just a thought.

Nevada is listed, but so is EKU. Those two along with Richmond are listed but don't really seem to be possibilities. I doubted it at first but it looks like Nick will join his Dad at UofL.
