I don't dislike Antonio Brown.  I think he's a goofball.  Not sure I'd want him with the Packers or Bengals but I think he's got a helluva lot of talent and its a shame he can't get out of his own way sometimes.

I just think the optics the whole situation is funny.

Is there some type of financial reason for the Bucs not to cut him?  I don't know what that would be.

Or is their some type of penalty on cutting a player that needs surgery?  If not, why wouldn't a team cut aging veterans all the time when they need season ending surgery.  I'd think there would have to be something like that but I have no clue how their contracts work, the CBA and all that.

Which, in my opinion, continues to paint the Bucs in a bad light.  

Antonio Brown has had issues at literally every stop, on and off the field. I'm almost always on the side of the worker/player versus the company/organization, but Brown has created his own problems since he got paid in Pittsburgh. That's not to say a team will never have any fault in a situation regarding Brown, but he's made his bed, so he has to lie in it. History is not on his side, and that's his own fault.

The Bucs knew this when they signed him.

Absolutely. That doesn't mean they can't ever get rid of him for it. 

But that's not what this is, if it indeed happens. He walked off the field and made it about him. No leader should allow that to happen, regardless of the circumstances.

I don’t disagree.  I just am not absolving the Bucs of blame just because AB acted out.

The Bucs are finally releasing AB today.  

To summarize Schefter's tweets, as fed by the Bucs' GM:

1. Last week AB and his agent requested his remaining $2M incentives be guaranteed. Team declined.
2. AB declined to cooperate early this week if he did in fact have an injury from the game.
3. Brown and his agent have cut off communication and not provided requested medical information.
4. Per sources, at halftime of Sunday's game, AB was agitated about not getting targets and had to be calmed down.

So messy!  I love it.  ???
