College Football Playoff: (11/09/21)

There's going to be a lot of chaos in the next couple of weeks, but for the top 7 teams (including UC), if they win out, they're in.  Obviously, not possible for all of them to win out, since some of them play each other.

ND's chances rest on the fact that their final 2 games are against bad teams, and there is a high probability of at least 3 of the 7 teams above them losing a game before the end of the season.

Gotta be thrilled if your an OSU or UC fan, I think both might be in if they win out.

  • I always love these snapshot tweets as if all of these are perennial top 25 programs.

  • I think Alabama, Oregon and Oklahoma all lose by the end of the regular season. OSU, Michigan and Michigan State between them will have at least 2 more losses just from each other.  If UC wins ou

Crazy to think we are even talking about ND as a playoff contender but they could sneak in if enough chaos happens ahead of them.

Notre Dame lost at HOME to Cincinnati. That should nullify them being rated anywhere above the Bearcats. If not it's a flawed system. Plus, it proves that Notre Dame has maximum leverage clout because, well...., they're Notre Dame..

I don't disagree with these chances, but if a situation actually arises that they take ND ahead of an undefeated UC after losing a head to head against them AND not playing in a conference championship then this entire system is as much of a farce as we know it is.

Anything the committee has ever said about what it takes to make it would be out the window at that point.

Notre Dame won’t be in over an undefeated UC team. Notre Dame does have a chance to slide in as the 4 seed though with UC as a 3 seed.

OSU is going to knock both Michigan and MSU out of it. So if Oregon were to lose and Georgia beats Bama. Then Notre Dame by default may have a chance to slide in at #4 only because no team then would have much of a resume for that spot.

As of this moment, OSU is the only team that I'd lock into the playoffs.

Bama may lose to UGA and get eliminated.

UGA could still get hammered by Bama and drop below OSU, undefeated Cincy and one loss Oregon.

Cincinnati could certainly lose a remaining game.

OSU doesn't look capable of losing to the rest of their schedule.

The OSU offense vs. the Georgia defense is what the people want.  Will it happen?

Probably at some point. Bama's offense will be a good test run for UGA. It will also be great film for OSU to study. Bama's offense isn't as good as the Buckeyes this year, but it will be the best UGA has see to this point.
