Brown Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 History: Henderson City and Henderson County merged in 1976 to have 1 high school Owensboro’s first game on record was in 1895 vs Henderson City a 0-0 tie Owensboro’s combined record is 87-38-6 over both Owensboro over Henderson City alone is 15-3-1 Owensboro over Henderson County alone is 72-35-5 Owensboro has won the last 5 Since 2000 it’s 11-11 Notable early games were Owensboro winning 70-0 in 1918 and 93-0 in 1930 ( the following year 1931, Henderson won 18-0! ) Since the 80’s it is 20-19 slightly in favor of Owensboro Henderson a solid defense and a running team with the 2 backs. They feature Saddiq Clements, a big time D1 lineman on both sides of ball. Owensboro counters with a ton of skill players including Carbon, Barksdale, Rogers and Goodwin. Carbon is back and they also moved a now healthy Williams to the D-line. Defense is leaps and bounds better. In Wimsatt’s sophomore year Owensboro escaped with a 22-16 win. But Owensboro has owned the series as of late. Big rivalry game. Game is on the turf at Owensboro’s Rash Stadium. 3 2
DevilMayCare Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 Red Devils invite their neighbors over for a friendly game of backyard football Records: Owensboro (8-1), Henderson County (6-3) BGP Ranking: Owensboro (#3 in 5A), Henderson County (unranked in 6A) Table Setter: As the sun sets on the regular season, long time rivals Owensboro and Henderson County will convene at Rash Stadium for one final pre-playoff tune up. The Red Devils are riding an eight game win streak, scoring at a clip of 48 points per game, second best in the state. They'll be challenged by a Hendo defense that's only been roughed up by the explosive, precise offensive units of Boyle County and Daviess County. Kenyatta Carbon is now back in the mix for Owensboro after missing several games, adding to an already formidable offensive arsenal. Henderson County has put together a fine season, but lacks a signature win. This is the last opportunity to impress before the win or go home portion of the schedule is upon them. Carbon is not the only game changer of note to make his return last week. Colonels running back Jaheim Williams is back from injury to add an all important explosive element to the Hendo offense. He popped three long touchdown runs last Friday against McCracken County to help the Colonels pull away. He's the one player the Colonels have that can potentially hurt Owensboro from anywhere on the field. This series has been streaky over the past decade. Owensboro is riding a five game streak over the Colonels to answer the five year run that Hendo had going before that 1 1
Tigerpride94 Posted October 24, 2021 Posted October 24, 2021 I'll take Owensboro since they have more weapons on offense than Henderson County.
Purple88 Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 I don't see this game being in question. Another opportunity for QB Boone to gain more experience. Red Devils Roll! 3
wrn1979 Posted October 25, 2021 Posted October 25, 2021 The only team Henderson could beat at Rash Stadium is Owensboro Middle School. Play it 22 miles to the West and they would lose. Playing in Owensboro they lose by 4-5 TD’s. 1
