El Diablo declared the Highlands Bluebirds will come out of the NKY 5A Region

Recommended Posts

According to @El Diablo:

Really doesn’t matter. Highlands comes out of this region in the playoffs. Colonels Cougs or Jags any field. Nobody wants Birds coming off the bye week round one. Highlands is going to be healthy and ready. Go Birds!

AND

This thread needed some spice. Obviously I could be wrong. Just seems in this group of teams there is not much separation. Highlands seems to have found the most dangerous recipe for player positions finally.  Noon may be the scariest player in the division. Conner Cooper and Cov Cath are all good teams, should be entertaining playoffs.

Do you agree with El Diablo, can the Jags, Cougars, and Colonels break out the round balls?

Is that contradictory? Haha? I do think Highlands gets two playoff wins here, is that allowed on this site?

I’m just confused on what we’re all suppose to believe? I mean at the beginning of the season there were many Highlands people and others jumping the gun declaring Highlands is back after a couple of wins. Then after a few losses, it quickly changed to well it is not reasonable to expect them to be back in the first year, and it’s still the same issues as previous years.  Now after a win, it’s right back to basically saying Highlands is back. It truly is hard to keep up with the constantly changing narrative of if they are back or not. 🤣

All jokes aside I don’t think Highlands was ever as good or “back” as people tried to say at the beginning of the season. Just like I don’t think Highlands was ever bad as some tried to say after a few of their losses. They weren’t losing to bad teams in the games they lost. They are a good team and can win or lose to anyone.

In all honesty all four teams and their fan bases in that district should truly believe they can win the district in the playoffs, because all four teams truly are capable of doing it this year. With Covcath still the favorite though until someone actually knocks them off. However, it definitely is more open this year than previous years.

This in bold.

Well I guess you explained any passionate fan base ever. They were supposed to get the score run up on them because they lost a couple games. They have had a lot of injuries. They are really young. I’m a homer but I saw the personnel in the best balance of talent of the year. Call me crazy but I believe they will two more games.

If that freaks you out you’ll love this. Highlands wins state in the next two years is my other insane unthinkable take.

How far do you think Highlands will go in the playoffs?  You are already committed to the 3rd round, will they win there too, the semi-finals, win it all this year?

Well I don’t know. I’ve seen a lot of Cov Cath Conner Cooper and Highlands. That’s what based my decision. I’ve heard Frederick Douglass is really good so I have no idea. I guess I should go to a psychologist since I believe in the Birds.  I didn’t expect such a freak out from my prediction. We’ll see.

How cool is it to see personnel adjustments!? I believe @Jack of all Tradesaways says don’t fit a square peg in a round hole.

Hey Kenny, I think this is a good time to add your halftime speech to the Birds last night against Cooper:

HHS has an opportunity to step on the throat of a team that abused them last year and send a message. If I am in the locker room I am preaching to end Cooper's hopes of getting back in this game. Physically abuse the man across from you and make them quit, make the man across from you not want to play football anymore. Make a statement. HHS was beat like a dirty dog by Cooper last year; don't let them back in the game.

For sure. The strategy of Noon as the passer and the only run threat Highlands was pretty easy to defend. With Bottoms at QB you keep Benke at WR. Noon at running back really changes this team. We saw the potential last night.
