Bird Bath Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 Boone is bad and the 15 yard flags for unsportsmanlike was a gut check. Glad Birds did not participate. The punt block was the offense. Say what you want about tackling but some tackles were made. How about a running game??? I don’t think they have over 50 yards average a game. Defend won that game.
Sweeperboy Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 Last time I was at Boone was in 2010. It’s sad to see 1 really good program lose its way and another respectable program just give up. I know I know, there weren’t 22 HS in Boone Cty in 2010 either and the talent was plentiful but from what I witnessed tonight Boone still has some excellent athletes and big kids. Boone can’t be this bad… 1

Voice of Reason Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 I wouldn't say Boone County is in shambles. They do have 3 wins. That is the most wins for Boone County in 10 years. They have a shot at win #4 when they play Tates Creek last game of the season. Yes, those wins are against teams in smaller classes but you have to start building change and momentum somewhere. 2

At this stage it would be great to see more of it now. Tip of the hat to Davis Hinegardner glad to see action for that kid as I suspected. Congrats to Higgs making his first varsity start at linebacker; he did not disappoint. Dunn, King, Kissee, Robinson, LaFrange and Surrey had their typical games. Boone was frustrated as it showed with after whistle crap; but they play hard. The hit a receiver took which resonated in the stands and the kid got up and played the next down. They did not give up. My last comment delay of games, snap ball late in every play clock is like watching paint dry. We could get a potty break between snaps, be better!
FrankNicodemus Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 I think the most frustrating (but in a normal game good) thing. Was the great field position we had all game. What I mean is that it didnt allow us to have a long drive to see what our offense is like. I mean we scored a lot but even with a short field our run offense still seemed shaky. With Cov Cath next week I wish we just had more yards to work with to work out some offensive kinks. But I totally agree, next year with Noon, Benke and Bottom Holy moly that is going to open up the playbook like a 5 inch 3 ring binder.....o and Geisler in backfield.
