They're elite this year. They're usually in the Southern part of the bracket which means in years past they have to go through a South Florida team to get to a state championship game. Districts are new this year so I'm not sure what side of the bracket they'll fall on this year, but if it's the south then they'll have to deal with Miami Northwestern in the semi final round.

Jesuit is the class of 6A Region 3. According to the FHSAA playoff predictions, they will get Sumner in the first round, since the regions first seed gets the eighth seed. Seeds 5 thru 8 are at large seeds determined by RPI. IMO, all of the at large seeds are much better than the probable winner of district 9, Countryside. Countryside, the 4th seed, is projected to get the 5 seed Northeast, who they lost to at home 42-7 a few weeks ago. Countryside is currently 4-4 and 10th in the region in RPI. 3 of those 4 wins are over district 9 opponents.

While I think district winners should be in the playoff, I feel they should seed position by RPI. That way Jesuit would get Countryside in the first round.

I follow all of the schools in the Tampa Bay area, much like I follow Kentucky football. However, there are schools that mean something to me at some level, just as there are in Kentucky.

Mrs. S graduated from Clearwater.

My kids graduated from Largo and Gaither.

My granddaughter will be going to Apopka.

I live right smack between Sickles and Alonso. I've been to several games at each school and have close friends who have or have had kids go to each.

My grandson plays at Countryside, so I follow that school and all of the schools in Countryside's district, River Ridge, Sunlake, Fivay, and Tampa Freedom.

I started following Sarasota Riverview 4 years ago, because eaglefan74's kid went there.

Florida teams I follow ...

Countryside 55 Fivay 8 (Clinched 6A Region 3 District 9)

------

Hillsborough 14 Gaither 7

Largo 64 Leto 0

Mitchell 44 Sickles 28

There is a 3 way tie for 1st in (7A Region 3 District 9) between Gaither, Largo, and Mitchell. Mitchell beat Gaither and lost to Largo. Gaither beat Largo, but lost to Mitchell. Mitchell has a slight edge over Largo in RPI, Gather is also close.

------

Clearwater 49 Dunedin 28 (5A Region 3 District 10 Champion)

River Ridge 43 Tampa Freedom 14

Eastlake 35 Alonso 26

Venice 42 Sarasote Riverview 7

Apopka 41 Lake Brantley 3

And for @Tigerpride94 ...

Tampa Jesuit 56 King 0

There is still one week left in the regular season.

This is the last week of the regular season in Florida.

The teams I follow that played last night...

St. Pete Northeast 21 Largo 14

Sarasota Riverview 21 Charlotte 14

FWIW, in Florida each region of each class has 4 districts each. The regional rounds have 8 teams involved. Seeds 1-4 are seeded by district winners positioned by RPI ranking. Seeds 5-8 are made up of non-district winners within the region determined and positioned by RPI ranking. Then the standard 1 v 8, 2 v 7, 3 v 6, 4 v 5 method is used with the higher seeds playing at home in round 1.

Moeller will play Lakota West next week in Ohio D1 playoffs.

Certainly not how the Bombers envisioned their season playing out. This team was built for a state championship run, but that's life in Ohio's big boy division. It's a meat grinder.

St. X beat Lakota West by 17 back in Week 1. It's still LW's only loss this season.
