Just back from the Men's room and this is great, SBOB, SDOC, & RickyP are willing to be Elliott County athletic supporters. Can I count FBREAK in there as well?

I'm sorry SBOB, I think some things are comical. You know I am just probably having a reaction to the drugs some quack prescribed for me.

 

A Hall of Fame coach I knew once described the improving competition as this "A rising tide raises all ships" he then proceeded to describe a little history as to who was the tide at different times. The success of a team from our region will only serve to make those around better. If you want to be near the top you will work harder to get there and stay there.

I totally respect Coach Fraley and the kids who come through the RH system.

I think they have a great shot to win several region titles.

I just am not a big fan of the bandwagon fans who jump on and off teams according to their success.

Once OJ left, the so-called emphasis was supposed to be off athletics but with the recent influx of transfers it seems to be back to winning is first again.

Also there are several schools with kids who have bounced around. I just think kids should play for their own schools not what is "best" for them or they dont like the coach stuff.

That is just my opinion. Not saying it is right.

Dead horse is coming out I fear so I am ending my posts on the subject.

BTW spindoc and I just like to pick at each other anyway. Still mad about 5 losses he took in baseball from my old Pop's team his senior year.:lol:

I think it's unfair to criticize people for not coming to games when their team was not doing well. It's hard to watch young men struggle like the kids did for a while. That does not mean the support was not there. The people at RH church supported the boys in a lot of ways. The kids who were on those teams don't have any problem with the fan support they are now getting. The only problem is coming from fans at other schools.

Correct, the first stone was thrown from the glass house in post #31. Rickyp tried to dillute the situation and that didn't work.

Remember, it's Friendship Drive, not Punchingbag Drive. And I feel you have been more than treated compassionately. Your on your own for the nourishment. Sunday School starts @ 9:45.

It does not bother me who plays for Rose Hill. Or if they play Russell or not. But it does look a though some of the recent success has caused quite a few to crow louder than normal. Its really the hypocracy I don't care for.

 

And before you say I'm just being a Russell homer, I'm not. I actually think RH would beat them right now. Russell is up and down and seem to be sleep walking half the time. Its hard to watch.

FWIW, I absolutely love the kids that play for Elliott. They are tremendous competitors on the court, and gentlemen off the court.
