For what it is worth, MaxPreps has the top 5 this way:

1) CovCath

2) LexCath

3) St. Henry

4) North Laurel

5) Ballard

I'm a fan of MaxPreps. Like CalPreps for football, their Power Ratings give full value to interstate games for Strength of Schedule.

If anyone is cross-referencing the latest KHSAA RPI numbers - remember, like Trinity in football every year, Cov Cath takes a hit on playing a strong out of state schedule. OWP for the four Ohio schools on their schedule is .744 (64-22). Two of those, St. Xavier and McNicholas would rank in our top 20.

If, like Mark Twain, you believe, "There are three kinds of lies: lies, *dang* lies, and statistics," here is the updated, head-to-head record for last week's Top 20:

1. 3-0 Lexington Catholic

2. 2-2 North Laurel

3. 3-2 Ballard

4. 3-2 Elizabethtown

5. 9-2 Covington Catholic

6. 2-1 St. Henry

7. 4-5 DeSales

8. 1-2 Male

9. 3-2 Bowling Green

10. 3-2 Trinity

11. 3-3 Highlands

12. 1-4 Oldham Co.

13. 1-2 John Hardin

14. 1-3 Ashland

15. 0-0 Frederick Douglass

16. 2-3 Fern Creek

17. 0-3 Dixie Heights

18. 1-2 Pleasure Ridge Park

19. 2-2 Doss

20. 1-3 St. Xavier

Maybe I'm selling CCH short?

Outstanding work with the H2H records, Wise One, much appreciated.

A few teams are, to paraphrase Skip Prosser, trying to sharpen their fangs by eating oatmeal.

I think there could be a lot of teams that a lot of us are selling short.  Especially this year when schedules have been so stop-and-start.
