Best Team in the 9th Region in 2007

I've heard Ryle has a transfer from Arkansas or somewhere out that way . I have no idea of a name or anything . Only thing the guy said is he throws in the mid - 90's .That is pretty good for a high school kid . Not sure what grade he is in .

It's amazing that every transfer is either 6'7'' with a good jumpshot or 6'3'' left handed with a mid-90's fastball and above average curve.

I've always said that the greatest player ever is the unseen transfer. Hasn't changed in 30 years.

Dixie lost alot and they are left just with only, to my knowledge, one player with Varsity experience/playing time who is Matt Nichols. However he alone won't be able to carry them this year. Dixie will have a much better team next year than they will have this year but you never know, they could surprise us all....

Actually Dixie has quite a few returning players this year. I believe Taylor Dickman played in every game at Center Field, Brennan Thomas played quite a bit at right field, Joe Schaeper got some starts at 1st and was in the batting lineup for quite a few games, and Patrick Rottinghaus was in the game pitching quite often and ran bases a lot. Dixie will also be getting some players back from injury. I am sad to hear Dixie will have to play another season at Turkeyfoot again. Go Colonels!

I would have to say that starting for a 4A school in Arkansas as a sophmore and making it to the state championship is quite an achivement

I ran into a player for Dixie at the mall this weekend and he was under the belief that the staudium would be done this season.

With the mild winter we are having it may be possible, but as of today they still have not picked up the rocks or planted seed. I don't think they planed on growing seed in January and February.

Cov Cath has at least 5 seniors that will start in o7. Popham 3r, Blesser 1st and pitch, Larkin 2nd and catch, Reis Left F, Stein Center, Houlehan ipitching and SS. I would think that right field and SS are the only two open positions that need a starter. All of these players except for Stein started last season. I see Malie at catch and Isler sharing first base with Blesser when Blesser is on the mound. Throw all the talent from the sophmore call and they should be as good or better than last year.

I would have to say that Ryle deserves the #1 nod at the begining of the season with CCH and HC pretty close at 2 and 3. Take your pick. Boone and St Henry should round out the top 5. Either of these teams can explode with the bats.

I would watch out for Beechwood this year, they are my sleeper team pick. They lost 8 starters but have a very talented junior class that won the freshman tournament as freshman and JV tournament as sophomores. They dont have the big game experience yet but at the end of the season they could be a dangerous team.

I agree. Beechwood should make some noise next year. They should have at least two solid pitchers again this year. It will be a little hard to replace some of their players from last year. They were rock solid in 06. However I did not follow the JV last year so they maybe a bigger surprise to me than I realize.

My top 3 are Ryle, Cov Cath, and Holy Cross. Ryle and Holy Cross are loaded with seniors, who are good ball players and Cov Cath returns everyone in the field but 2 from last year. Blesser's arm appears to be healthy, should be a very interesting season.

My only problem with Beechwood is the district. The 35th is loaded and its gonna be tough for Beechwood to find its way to the region

Bankemper is back for Beechwood right? Will he be the top pitcher this year?

I think Elliott is back also.....

Bankemper should be their ace. He threw pretty hard last season. I would guess he will be even stronger this year.

Comming off a broken ankle, are we sure he is back?
