I don't think it is any different. When is the oppertunity to recruit a KY kid that can contribute regardless of where he plays. I know he had some All-American guards coming but since when did UK not want to have 5 or 6 guards under Tubby.Currently have 5 guards that contribute and have had as many as 6???????? Miller's offer to Uk is more of an apology than an offer. I don't mean any disrespect to Miller with that comment because I believe he can play at UK and I hope he does. I would love to see more kids like him end up at UK.

I heard that Tenn. was supposed to come to the tournament at Perry Central to check out Miller. I would think that this would be a good idea if they were interested since that is probably the closest place to Tenn. that Mason plays.

 

Coach Pearl was at Mason's first game of the season, Florida was at the second, Illinois was at the third. Darius will most likely be able to go wherever he wants.

I agree with this post for the most part. Miller can play, no doubt about that. But I also think the UK staff is trying to smooth some ruffled feathers with their Mason County UK fan base.

Miller is one of kentucky's best. If Tubby can get him to come play then it will be a big surprise to me.

The recruiting (or lack thereof) by Kentucky for Lofton is completely different. At the time, it looked like a great decision by Tubby & the rest of the Kentucky staff. They brought in 2 guards from the McDonald's All-American team as well as another solid combo guard in Ramel Bradley. Lofton would have been nice to have, but you simply cannot blame Tubby for what he was doing, even if it didn't work out as well as planned.

 

Simply put, Kentucky needs to land one of the star recruits in the state in the next few seasons. Whether that's Mackey, Hopson or Miller...it doesn't really matter, IMO. Personally, I'd like to have Miller.

 

Considering Mackey (IU) and Hopson (MSU) have already selected a school, things aren't looking good for the 'Cats on this matter.

I don't recall all the details, but it seems to me UofL got caught off-guard just like UK with the players' respective early committments.

I know many of them still have to be steaming over UK's snubb of Lofton. Mason County at one time was a strong UK area, but I'd say it's not as strong anymore.

I just have a feeling he will not be going to UK, and may end up at Tennessee and play with Lofton for his senior year.

Personally, I don't know what Miller would stand to gain by playing for Oak Hill. He's a pretty polished player, and there certainly isn't any issue with him getting noticed.

 

I will say this: If he were to go to Oak Hill, any hopes of UK getting him likely go down the drain, because he becomes an even hotter prospect, and UK seems to have trouble making elbow room for itself at a crowded recruiting table.
