December 12, 200619 yr Louisville is on the right track, but I still think they're a year or two away from becoming a nationally "elite" program. With a convincing win over Wake in a few weeks, they may get even more recognition - and deservedly so. I think, right now, that UL is somewhere in the 7-12 range but quickly moving up. It'll take another season or 2 before they join the ranks of USC, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida, etc... And that's a compliment...
December 12, 200619 yr I was just about to say... Who said the UofL faithful needed convincing? We're well aware we're elite, we just like to stuff it in everyone elses face. Be careful now, I am a taxidermist, and yes I do stuff birds!

I can buy this....if they have a good year recruiting this year, and another stellar year next (they then will be sans Brohm, Bush, Urruttia, Douglas, etc.....)....they will move up to the elite status...then Bobby will move on 1-3 years down the road.
December 12, 200619 yr I wanted to thank my list of people as to why Louisville is where it is today: 1 - The fans, without your constant encouragement and desire to have a great team, this would all be a no show. 2 - Howard Schnellenberger - your vision and this comment, "Louisville is on a collision course with the national championship, the only variable is time", 'nuff said 3 - Tom Jurich - What a tru believer of getting, being, and playing in, the BEST. 4 - Bobby Petrino and Staff - you get recognition, but not nearly enough, your entire staff has gotten Louisville over the first hurdle, there are more to come. 5 - Every player in Louisville history, you are the bricks to this house....and you have and are buidling a fortress..
December 12, 200619 yr The article says that they've won 11 games 3 years in a row. Didn't they go 9-3 last year?
December 12, 200619 yr Author Why would I not admit it? I don't approach things with the same attitude as some others I know:rolleyes: . I give credit when it is due. I don't bash a program or player just for the simple fact I don't like them. I despise Louisville, they do have a good program but I didn't have to read an article in the paper to make me believe it.You responded to a post that was for people who claimed Louisville was not an elite program. So it is to be assumed that you make that claim as well.
December 13, 200619 yr I thought it was funny...I got a call from my folks this afternoon, that they ate lunch with Howard Scnellenberger, and they told me that U of L was staying at Trump's place in Sonesta.....NICE.

Remember what they say about assume? If you have read other post I have given Louisville a lot of props even though I am not a fan of their program. I do however know they have a good program and like what they are doing for college sports in general.
December 13, 200619 yr ^^^Umm, can I get a shout-out for banging my drum? Bang The Drum Slowly!!!:thumb:
