I saw or heard a stand on Votto that emphasizes how important it is that he is hitting the ball hard. Last year he was barreling the ball 38% of the rate that he was barreling the ball 2 years prior. That is a big factor in his loss of power and hits the last couple years. It is really good to see him hitting the ball hard like that even if it is right at someone.

July 26, 20206 yr Bell obviously hasn't learned anything about letting players play. Cybermetrics weren't his friend last year and so far aren't his friend this year. He's going to have unhappy players in the clubhouse which will lead to overall dis-content on the team. If indeed each game played this year is worth 2.7 games of a normal season, our illustrious ball team is roughly 3-5 early on.

July 27, 20206 yr Trevor Bauer was obviously upset about getting yanked, and there was a player Saturday who had a tantrum after being pinch hit for and replaced in the outfield. There seems to be no stability in the lineup. Some of the same things we saw a year ago.
July 27, 20206 yr I personally think with only a 60 game season a manager has to manager totally different in relation to his pitching staff as compared to a 162 game season. Meaning your starting pitchers if on their game can go 7 or 8 innings instead of 5 or 6. Heck I mean at most they are going to get is 15 starts total.

If this is about Bell pulling starters, I will point out Bauer had thrown 105 pitches when he was pulled yesterday. My question to you is, how many starting pitchers in MLB threw more than 105 pitches in their first start this past weekend?

If you are expecting the same 9 guys to play every day and the same batting order, that game ended 30 years ago. Bauer will be upset every time he is pulled from a game. That is who he is. If they let him throw 150 pitches, he will say he could throw 200.
