mcpapa
Should this even be a controversial topic in 2020? Will there be repercussions in terms of support/attendance (when spectators are allowed back)? Advertising? What about compliance monitoring? Here’s hoping we can discuss in a responsible manner. TheDeuce
The fallout from this on Facebook and Twitter went as expected. Although I will say there were many people applauding NASCAR for the move.
mcpapa
Evidently there had been several prominent people in NASCAR working toward this end for some time; Dale Earnhardt, Jr. perhaps the most prominent among them. But it took what I keep hearing as "an inflection point" to see action.
TheDeuce
I saw a lot of people inferring it was Bubba Wallace's "fault." :lol2:
bugatti
Confederate flag waiving has always irked me more than statues or other historical relics in communities. I always chuckle that the "reason" people think it should be waived is to honor one's heritage. Sure.
sportsfan41
I've never worn anything with a confederate/rebel flag or flown one. I've never fully understood people that did but accepted that some did view it as a symbol of being a southerner and nothing more. The others, well that goes without saying, problem is It's hard to really know which is which.

Jumper_Dad
I thought this had happened already, back when The Dukes of Hazzard was pulled from TV.
TheDeuce
I thought this had happened already, back when The Dukes of Hazzard was pulled from TV. I think Talledega did it, but not NASCAR as a whole.
GrantNKY
This is perhaps the best video I’ve seen about this topic all day. This guy parodies of a racist redneck is hysterical. http://https://twitter.com/brentterhune/status/1270873856295817224?s=
