Should this even be a controversial topic in 2020? Will there be repercussions in terms of support/attendance (when spectators are allowed back)? Advertising? What about compliance monitoring?

Although I will say there were many people applauding NASCAR for the move.

Evidently there had been several prominent people in NASCAR working toward this end for some time; Dale Earnhardt, Jr. perhaps the most prominent among them. But it took what I keep hearing as "an inflection point" to see action.

I saw a lot of people inferring it was Bubba Wallace's "fault." :lol2:

Confederate flag waiving has always irked me more than statues or other historical relics in communities. I always chuckle that the "reason" people think it should be waived is to honor one's heritage. Sure.

I've never worn anything with a confederate/rebel flag or flown one. I've never fully understood people that did but accepted that some did view it as a symbol of being a southerner and nothing more. The others, well that goes without saying, problem is It's hard to really know which is which.
